I know that there are plenty of different add-ons for FS2004. But which ones are the most useful and of course the most fun ;)
They should also be quite light, so they won't affect FS's running speed. If you could give me some links and explain something about nice add-ons I'd be glad.
Thanks,
Tarik
PS. I wasn't sure where to post this topic, so if it's in the wrong place I'm sorry.

Here's probably the right place Tarik ;)...
My contribution to the thread is to suggest you get yourself one of the many add-ons that do real-world weather (I've used FS-Meteo (http://www.fsmeteo.com/) in the past, but use Active Sky (http://www.hifisim.com/) now)
They're not terribly "light", but the difference they make to the flight environment is huge (especially if your PC is capable of handling FS with the weather sliders turned up to 11).

FS Navigator is also very useful, because it offers you SID&STARS and it's quite easy to use. ;)
The bad news is that is payware

Tarik,
i would definately recommend FS navigator like Jose - not much use with pmdg or level-d planes that have FMCs, but great with genral aviation planes and those that don't have FMCs such as the beechcraft 1900D.
I also use flight environment which gives great clouds, water effects etc
Both do effect frame rates a bit but not terribly - depends how good your system is i guess??

Hi Tarik,
Also, if you prefer to have more realistic land coverage (sharper edges and real look) you may have a look at the Ground Environment software (http://environments.flight1.net/). It is payware, but certainly worth the money. More frame reate friendly than Active Sky, which will give a great deal of workload for your graphics card ... but it is a must as well :D
Cheers,
Janos

Well, I don't know about programs, but any programs from Flight 1 and Captain Sim are always very impressive.
Captain Sim, though, is not light.

Thanks to all, for your tips.
I'm going to try some.. :)
I have 3ghz intel CPU, nVidia 6600 GT, 1024Mt RAM and I'm running Vista Ultimate.

Hey guys!
I'd like to have some nice AI traffic tool for my FS9. I'd like to have multiple real world airlines there. So what would be the best one? ;)
-
Hi Tarik,
payware - MyTraffic 2006 - I use MT2006 and have to admit that it's just amazing - http://mytraffic2004.com/version4/ - look at those screenshots!
freeware - my personal best - Project AI - http://www.projectai.com/
but the others, like this: http://world-of-ai.com/ or this http://www.evolveai.com/ are also nice.
Happy landings!

i'm a mostly freeware guy, heres some good ones :]
http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=Pushback%2FTow%2FTaxi+Version+1.3.6&CatID=fs2004gau
Pushback/Tow/Taxi Version 1.3.6
Pushback/Tow/Taxi Version 1.3.7 (hot fix)
PushBack/Tow/Taxi atn.gau 1.3.9
its a simple gauge that allows you to control your pushback speed and direction, taxi speed, and even allows you to tow your aircraft to a hangar without your own engine power. it also shows the weights of the aircraft (gross weight, fuel weight etc.) also allows you to turn on lights in case a panels does not have buttons for some lights, also shows the air temperature and the QNH ;D (phew thats a mouthful! :])

Real Environment Professional
textures for land and sky and water, really good to use and looks really good ;D

Thanks guys. I'm now using "World Of AI".. I'm going to test it today, see if I like it.
But don't let this topic die, we always need some new add-ons.. (at least I need ;D)

Hi Tarik,
If your looking for a great flight experience, I would suggest activesky 6.5 http://sales.hifisim.com/ASv6/Screenshots/highlights.htm
