Title: Car Crashes Into Glasgow Airport
Post by: EHM-2110 Matt on June 30, 2007, 05:25:37 pm
Another day, another attack, this time on Glasgow Airport.  Burning Jeep driven into terminal.  Police say the two men in it have been arrested, can still see the Jeep in the piccys so doesnt look like it got into the building itself luckily!

All I can say is: Well done UK.
If these are the terrorist threat that do come through the safety net, then anyone should feel pretty safe.
One car, on fire, without explosives other than its tank of fuel is preferable to two 757's with a hundreds of tonnes of jet A-1.
Yes, there was damage and yes there's plenty of delays. but in the greater terrorist scheme of things all I can say is: Feeble...

Yawn...

Unfortunately this was not the only attempted terror attack at an airport today.

Looks like Eta are back in business in Spain as well!!!

Yeah, actually ETA was always in business, they never put the weapons down as they wanted us to believe(specially when the attack at the new terminal 4 at LEMD) but sadly we are used to this. I hope someday they follow IRA's example and teminate all this and go after the longwaited peace.

hmm, I was thinking earlier that maybe these attacks were for terrorists to test the new Prime Minister, Gordon Brown (incase any of you don't know that Tony Blair quit on the 27th)

I think it does have something to do with Gordon, because if you look at these terrorist attacks, they always attack after a big celebration, like 7/7 was right after London got the 2012 Olympics. I don't know whether many would say Gordon becoming Prime Minister is a big celebration, but I don't want to get into a political debate:]. I just think maybe this was the case?

I thought this aswell Matt, but if i'm honest I think the Glasgow attack was probably some people who saw the failed attacks in london and decided that an attack that was successful was needed.  A website claimed the attempted attacks on Friday were in response to Salmon Rushdie being knighted.....

News is slow to reach New Zealand - I only just found out about the attack by reading this thread! I'm glad that no one was hurt (from what I know - don't know the whole story). I hope this failed attempt doesn't provoke more attacks by those responsible in the future...
