Title: USAF awards KC-X to EADS/Northrop Grumman

It's now released that USAF awards the KC-X contract for 179 refuelling planes to EADS/Northrop Grumman.
The aircraft in hand is the A330-200 or the A330MRTT.

This contract was won in comeptition based a tanker based on the B767. The first 20 frames will be assebled in Toulouse, while the rest will be asembled a at new pant in Mobile, Alabama.

That is a major boost for Airbus! (not to mention a kick in the teeth for Boeing!)

What is the role of Nothrop-Grumman ??? Will they deliver the refilling mechanism ???
