NOTVAM
Following maintenance to the back-end database it is possible that the Flight Logger V3 and/or ProPilot system may have an error (directly as a result of the database change).
Could all pilots please update their FLv3 at the earliest opportunity and inform me (via this thread) if things are broken so I can roll back the change.
-
Just did so, no probs that i noticed, FL updated normally

(*small woohoo*)
Thnx Jav. It's one of the few things I can't test on my development laptop (Ubuntu - FL only runs in Windows...). As long as an Update doesn't fail, the only other thing you [pilots] may notice is that there might be airports listed with the wrong country. If any are noticed, please post so they can be corrected.

I just cannot update the flight logger, a window appeared saying that there's 'Run- time error'. Any idea why is this happening?
-
Are you running vista?
-
Nope I'm not, I'm running Window XP
-
Cheuk, how long has this been happening, and when did it start?
-
It sounds like the DLL not registered properly..... take a look at this and see if any of the solutions can help you cure it....

there are a number of different ideas in that forum that may help so please read them all.
Cheers, let us know if that does not help.

Thanks.. But it didn't work depite registering the DLL file... It still said: run-time error' 2147887(80040e21)': Multiple-step operation errors. Check each status value.:|

Hmm... Just tested my own FLv3 Update, and it had no problem (not in and of itself indicative of very much).
Your error (as described in your most recent post) sounds just like the "someone has broken the DB" error, but that affects everyone when it happens; and the most recent DB change I am aware of is the countries changeover I made last weekend (the reason for this thread :))
So... back to diagnostic basics if I may. Have you run a FLv3 update before now that's worked, or is this your first attempt at updating after a first install? If it's not a brand new install, when did this error first appear (date if poss)? Has any other software changed in your setup in the same time frame, particularly firewall/anti-virus software? Equally, have you made any changes to your Internet Settings (in IE/Control Panel), these seem to be tied into so many other things in Windows since XP?

Yep, it's my first attempt updating it after the installation:[

Silly suggestion, try re-installing straight over the top of this broken install and see if that helps at all.

I've tried it, but it don't seems to help...:[
