Title: Trouble Installing Fleet
Post by: EHM-5YK Albert on April 28, 2008, 07:17:16 pm
Hi. I am new, and having trouble getting the aircraft to work.

I went into the fleet area, downloaded the Sukhoi 80GP, and started the installation. I agreed to the liscensing, told it I wanted the files to be in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X, and started the installation. About a second later, what do you know? An error message! it was as follows:

FSX Sukhoi 80GP EuroHarmony V4 Livery has not been totally installed because of the following reason:

Cannot create the following:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\ehmv4-fleet-SU80\Aircraft.$$A

So I think, "Must be down for maintenance or something." I tried the Beech 1900, also a Class 1 airplane, with a similar result. I even tried planes outside of my level, to the same tune.

Does anybody know what might be causing this, or how I could fix it?

Hi Albert !

Welcome to the airline. Basically, take care, as not all of our airplanes are FSX-ready yet. Look for the FSX download icon at the aircraft pages (Beech1900 for example not FSX-ready)

Just one simple question: did you install your own FSX to exactly the same route that this Aircraft package points to ? I myself for example have a drive S for flightsimming, and my FSX path is "S:\FSX", and it needs to be replaced during installation ;)

Yep. That's where it's installed.

This looks to me like the air file may be being intercepted by your Antivirus or Anti Spyware setup. The download works fine on my PC so i can only assume that something you have running is stopping the installer from uncompressing the files. If you are confident in your security the only thing I can suggest is try downloading the files again, then go offline whilst you disable your Antivirus/Spyware software and try again.
