I finally finished flying the Tour of Greece today. It seemed to take forever, but some of the scenery definately made it worth it. Here are some of the screenshots I took:
On the first day at Athens airport. A couple of Olympics, and an Emirates A330 parked at the terminal.

I encountered a storm on the first flight, over the Aegean Sea en-route to Limnos.

The next day I started out early. Dawn at Limnos was quite misty. That's a turkish Island in the background, one whose name I can't spell. The ancient ruins of Troy are not far from here.

The island of Kasos is my favourite island of the tour, completely surrounded by turquoise shallow sea.

An incredible sunset as I flew north from Crete to Paros. Luckily there was enough light left when I reached Paros - no runway lights!

Pictures of this tour wouldn't be complete without this. Probably the scariest airport in the world to land at, at Kithira.

As I headed further north I was surprised at how mountainous parts of Greece can be. The weather was quite bad here, my landing at Ioannina was difficult, with cloud down to 1500 feet.

On the last leg of the tour I decided to see some of the sights around Athens. Here is Dionysos mountain, strangest thing I have ever seen, named after the son of Zeus apparently.

And then of course the most famous sight in Athens, the Acropolis, with a nice view of the city in the background.

Well after that I can't wait to get back into jets again. I think maybe I will take the Greek livery 757 somewhere. :)

Superb picd Joe, made me remember my Alps tour before the BC.
Now I know what is that funny thing near LGAV, I thought it is a scenery bug, but it is a real mountain ;D

Yes I am doing the Tour of Athens too, I have some pics to put but i'll wait till later, staty tuned :)

Here are the pic's I promised:
The first is of the only leg I did online, and I like this picture because of the "steamy" appearance it makes.

The second is kind like a question, I was at Paros and I saw this odd building, quite funny w/ its 2 posts going nowhere, does anyone have any guesses as to what that is???

This is... as Joe said, the scaryest airport, Kithira, I also took a shot of this since it looked spectacular, I would love to see that in real life, even fly there.

Northen Greece shocked me because of its mountains, very beautiful and quite high for that part of the world, not what you would expect in Greece, at least what I did.

And, at last, the approach to Athens, which I did simoultanously with an Olymplic Aviation (OLAVIA) ATR-???, landing at the R Runway while I did so at the L Runway.

And thats all! Ive already flown 5 EHM tours! And 3 more to go if I remember right... off to Great Brittain I go.
Cheers,
Alex;)

Very nice pics! That building looks like a radar station from England in the WW2. ;D
I guess it is a poor VOR or NDB station.
-
I think I know what that funny thing is...
I think its a power generator, or something to do with electricity.
-
Looks like a VOR or NDB station to me......with that antenna on top of the shack.......and oh that olympics plane is too close for comfort :o
