Post by: EHM-1358 Tim on July 23, 2004, 07:39:22 pm
Wouldnt that be a great idea. Having a EHM acrobatics team. Doing flights online flights together. I think I found a good plane that could be used. Dont remeber the name tought.

You mean like "Blue Angels" ? Sounds interesting, but hard to accomplish. I think the limitation of on-line connection and flying knowledge would cut this project:[

Great idea. If i could get online then I would participate. What makes you guys think it will be so hard:%. Would we use a prop plane or a fast jet. Here are my ideas.

Fighter: Mig 29/ f-15 Eagle
Aerobatics plane- Sukhoi Su 26.

I think as the reason is as Robert said the limitation of on-line connection. Acrobatics in general takes a lot of planning and skill. Acrobatics as a team take even more planning, skill and communication. I’m not implying that our pilots aren’t skilled at flying. But another thing is, and I’m sorry if I’m acting like a grumpy old man. But what would be the point of having this team. I served in the Danish Air Force for 10 year (not as a pilot) and have over that period of time been involved in a few air shows. If we where a real airline I could see the point, we could promoted our airline that way. But I can’t see the value of having a team just to do some acrobatics on-line. I mean there must be more to it, then just having a team that did acrobatics on-line. But of course you can always try to sell the idea to the senior management.
And I’m pretty sure that if we where to have such a team, the plan that would used would be from our fleet. I’m rather sure that Maarten and Gergely wouldn’t allow a F-15 or a MIG 29 to enter our fleet, not even for this purpose

Maybe instead of a team, you could start with a duo or trio and gain some experience before growing to a team.

An original aircraft could be a Fokker 50 or Embraer 170. But if you really want to do Split-S's, Immelmanns and looping then I would suggest the new MB339 'Frecce Tricolori' (seen on simviation.com)
Could someone make a sensational livery for it ?

Also you could organize an airshow online, where normal air traffic is diverted to other airports and where EHM-pilots show their skills in an orderly fashion. (crashes are forbidden :-)

For doing stunts I would use the Su 26. At the Sunderland intl airshow, a guy called Will Curtis was flying one and it was capable of 12g positive and 7g negative. That guy most be on somthing:]

I think it's a good Idea. Maybe use air shows to draw future pilots to EH? Or... just for fun. =) The Aermacchi MB-339 that Anvaco mentioned is a good suggestion.

And just to throw another shrimp into the pot, the new pilot client for IVAO, IVAP, displays other IVAP users in real time, allowing for full-on aerobatic flying.

It's been used by a number of Dannish pilots (who happen to be IVAO staff members) to do military escort missions...

Murray, to ask the obvious, do you or any of the other IVAO staff members, we have at this airline. Have any idea when it will be released?
