OK, I am also need to learn something ;D

What is Yaw Damper used for, cause I never turn it on at the Autopilot... ?

I dont think im correct but yaw samper comes on auto after takeoff. Its very useful. It steadys the yaw.

You mean it normalizes vertical bouncing/bumping of the plane?

How do you know that it comes on automatically after take-off? I've never noticed that before :P I guess it should like what you said make the flying of the plane smoother and less jerky etc......maybe less susceptible to over pitching etc?

Yes but only bumping asif in the yaw direction.

Im not sure in saying this but, have you ever tried useing the Yaw Damper, it never seems to do anything.:D

Ctrl-D is the default key in Flightsim to activate/de-activate the Yaw Damper.

As far as effect, while engaged, you can visibly see less rudder movement. The Yaw Damper is supposed to neutralize the "dutch roll" effect an aircraft has travelling at higher speeds. Most slow flying aircraft do not need a yaw damper.

In FS9 there is a switch in the aircraft.cfg [autopilot] section that determines whether or not the aircraft is equipped with the yaw damper.
