Title: Fsx Re-install
Post by: EHM-2672 Patrick on September 01, 2011, 08:38:09 pm
Hi,
Trying to re-install fsx in D: but it redirect me automatically to C:  ???
and continue the installation without the normal slide image.
After inserting disc 2, it continues the installation but arrived at the Direct X & SDK path. It stops and get a message ' installgamehelper.dll cannot be found'
Why does it do that?
Please help me to solve this problem  :-[

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Patrick.

Is it possible that a part of the installation is being saved automatically in a special file of the hard disc ?
Anyway have searched for such file but cant find it.
Its quiet difficult to search for hidding files in windows vista.

Regards,
Patrick

Not sure if you managed to redirect the installer - if not:

The option is a little hidden.

Quote
On the first page you select more options and then on the next page you select browse. That's when you select the drive ,Folder etc.
So must click the more options button on first page of installer - easy to miss!

If, after a reinstall into a different directory, you still encounter problems, you might want to download the free registry repair tool from Flight1:
http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library (http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library)

FSX has a tendency to not clean up properly after herself  ;)

Thanks Eric  ;)
Problem is solved  ;D
Have meanwhile discovered a similar program that remove most of the hidden files.
It's a payware. It's only free for the first 30 days.

Here is the link. Could be usefull to anyone of us  :)
