A little bit late to announce maybe but tommorow 15th Nov will be my C1 exam at EGLL from 19.30Z
Some experienced pilots will be appreciated. Some less experienced pilots are welcome also ofcourse as long as you know at Heathrow it is not allowed to exceed the 25kts taxi limit and I saw from the poll at lot of people break the rule.
Me ofcourse I never do that. :o
Hope to see some of you tommorow.

Well that must mean that you haven't yet submitted you answer, as at the moment no one has dare to aswer 'never.' Well at least until now everbody has been aware that there is a speed limit.
b.t.w best of luck and I offcourse hope you pass
-
hmm didn't think of that one;)
-
count on me :)
-
Will try to get there (will be my first proper flight in the PMDG 737-800, so I don't know how well it'll work...) but best of luck otherwise...
-
Once I want to join the IVAO community, as it seems that VATSIM softwares do not work properly at me...but this day will not be today. I am sorry. Anyway, could somebody explain me detailed about the ATC levels, and those mighty exams you always talking about? ;D
-
Hi Cyriel, good luck in the exam, I will try my best and fly, may only be for a short hop due to lack of time:{
Hope it goes better than mine ;) - probably have to wait another week or so.
Robert, the ranking goes S1 (Student level 1) when you first register, S2 after 10 hours, S3 after a multiple choice exam on the ATC program.
Then it gets more difficult - C1 (Controller 1) after you have passed both a theory paper and a practical exam, C2 after another thoery and practical, and then C3 after another theory and practical. From C3 you can go up to I1 (Instructor 1) by another theory, and TWO practical exams showing you can successfull teach another controller, and evaluate them. I2 require a thoery and a practical also showing you can examine the student. I3 means another thoery, a similar practical, and another practical trainig a C3 to become an I1.
I wrote this out because I am a bit bored, but I will give you a link anyway.
Student (http://www.ivao.org/training/sratings.asp)
Controller (http://www.ivao.org/training/cratings.htm)
Instructor (http://www.ivao.org/training/iratings.htm)

(Abridged from the links in Bens post, but he beat me to the post button)
On IVAO , the ratings are:
Basic - Student
S1 - Say you want to ATC and you are S1
S2 - After 10 hours online as an S1
S3 - After at least 25 hours online as an S2 and a successful IVAC theory exam
Advanced - Controller
C1 - After at least 50 hours online as a S3 and successful GND/TWR theory and practical exams
C2 - After at least 100 hours online as a C1, having held a C1 rating for at least 30 days, and successful APP theory and practical exams
C3 - After at least 200 hours online as a C2, having held a C2 rating for at least 30 days, and successful CTR theory and practical exams
And unlike VATSIM, you don't have to pass any exams just to become a student...

Helps to think about the C? ratings in terms of the facility the theory exam is (sort of) about...
-
I will be there too ...
... but a little late. About 22h with a Propeller from EGLL to Gatwick or something ;) ...
See ya and GOOD LUCK man !

Cant be there sorry, I havent been flying in about a month, assured I'll go to any event once i'm back up flying regularly. (This also explains why I havent been posting as much as usual)
Cheers and all of luck!
Alex;)

Sorry, I cannot go because I am only gonna go online when I get broadband because of my internet connection that loves to disconect itself in times of need!
Best wishes and good luck, we are all rooted for you here.
BTW who where the good people who allways stick to the speed limit on the poll, i keep to about 20kts on theground and anything up to mach 2+ in the air. Rock on dude!
-
HI all,
Just failed the exam with 74 points (1 short). Thx for all the people who flew in it almost looked like an event. I will ask for your help gain in about two weeks.;)
-
*Lots of expletives*
Had all sorts of *expletive* problems with *expletive* IvAp and arrived just after 2200Z, by which time I'm guessing you already had you result...
Sorry I (only just) missed you, and better luck next time... I'll be there with the same flight (just without the inexplicable alt spikes, and on time...)
-
Yep...hard luck....keep trying....i think next time maybe it would be better for a bit less traffic.....twas immense,
I also had ivap problems, said the qnh was something stupid, so altimeter read -200ft while i was on the approach....very odd.
See you next time Cyriel.
-
Tough luck :| Better luck next time! :)
-
Hard luck man, 1 short has to be a bit shocking.:[
-
What happened Cyriel ? Do you know why did you failed ?
Hope you get better luck next time ! I really mean it ...
Regards,
-
Bad luck Cyriel, sorry couldn't be there but sounds like you had enough to deal with. Just getting my new computer up and running so should be there next time. Keep that chin up....
-
Why couldn't the Examiner just give that 1 point? Scoring on practical exams can be slightly more flexible as on written ones. :{
I had severe problems with IvAp, the pressure dropped from 1020 milibars to about 300 milibars, so I had a GS of about 350 with an IAS of 100 kt and I had a very hard time to heep the plane in the air until I figured out what to do.
Good luck on the next try (I believe you can reapply in 2 weeks).

It's no problem I will get it next time. I was good to see so many ehm planes. The examinor was Ian Bontham ( former member or still I'm not sure). He was also happy to see so many planes. So in two weeks I'll try again and hope to see many ehm planes again.
Maybe an exam is what it takes to get all ehm people in the air togehter;D

So true! :]
-
Well, let's make exams all weeks then ... :8
-
Well mine should be soon at EGKK Gatwick, once the examiner manages to reschedule it - had to be postponed unfortunately, not his fault though.
-
We will be there.
I missed Cyriel's one, i will try not to miss again ...
