Just completed the flight that gets me SCC status (woohoo!); EGLL to EHAM (EHM-5000), but that's not why I posted.
Having submitted my PIREP to IVAO and the Flight Logger, I noticed that the majority of the IVAO PIREPed flight hours for EHM have come from two pilots (I'm one of them...)!
Come on folks, get those PIREPs into IVAO or we'll lose our registration thingy. Gergely has made it clear that we all need to be filing an average of an hour each a week on IVAO... Don't leave it all up to Bruno and me ('cause I for one have a couple of big projects on the go that are keeping me away from flying...)
-
Totally agree, I havent posted anyhting up yet since I just got up and flying yesterday... But I'll try to get some hours onto the IVAO registration thing, oh, by the way do you have to file a PiRep on the EHM website and on the IVAO one, or just on one of them?
Cheers,
Alex;)
-
Hey Alex,
Good to hear you have gotten back in the air again. You need to file a PiRep both here and at IVAO, Gergely tells how here http://www.euroharmony.com/~forum/viewthread.php?tid=761
-
I would love to help and report flights, however since I installed the latest IVAP version 0.32 I have not been able to fly online. Connecting works perfect but as soon as I receive a message ( from atc, unicom, metar or whatever) It crashes with the message "ivap lost connection to the message router. SO until they realease a version that wil work on my computer I'm afraid I'm out of the online flying business for now ( unlessI start using Squawk box again).
-
Sorry guys, i have done about 5hrs of EHM flights on IVAO but didn't realise they had a PIREP system as well. Will start from to-day i promise !!!!
-
You can report there old pireps too (up to 6 months old)
-
This morning I also managed to complete an online flight and reported it. Did not realize however I also had to record the amount of burn fuel mandatory. So just so everyone knows it is not as friendly as out pireps.
Make sure to record TAS, Burnt Fuel, take off time, landing time, alternate airport etc.

You can get most of the information required for the IVAO PIREP out of our flight logger, and it saves a lot of writing for our PIREP, just not distance (which is a right pain...) Thankfully, I use a rather good online route planner which includes the route distance (minus any additions for the SID/STAR) and all I do is round it to the nearest nautical mile; you can find it at http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/.
-
One request... if you submit the pirep on the IVAO site, enter the callsign you used online to fly the flight! Not your EHM ID!
-
Yea, I had quite some doubts about using the flight Callsign or my callsign the first time...:)
-
I always use my ehm ID as my callsign. I expected everybody did but appearently I was wrong. Yesterday I was able again to complete a flight online. I saw we already have 40 online hours reported yesterday.
-
Hi,
I really like to see topics like this on our VA.
It really touches me when I see people making efforts on making our VA even all-day even better.
Yesterday I made another flight online. I will report it today.
Regards,
-
Yep, people have really started to fly online more than before... including me! I fly online much more now than before.:)
Cheers,
Alex;)
-
513 pilots and ATC online today !!!
-
The record was 719 last Tuesday... :)
-
Dear all, as you may have noticed i have finally got round to logging my euroharmony flights on the IVAO Pireps. However, looking at the number of pilots who signed up there still seems to be alot of people who are not logging their flights separately with the IVAO Pirep. It would be a real shame if we loose are IVAO status especially if people are doing the flights but not logging them. Sorry to sound like an old woman (no offence Jen, LOL) but feel kind of strong about this. Jim
-
Jim I think the hour or 2 hours we had to log every week are easy to achieve, I dont think that there is any possibility of them removing us.
-
LOL Jim... no offence taken.
I guess I need to get over my anxiety of making a mistake online (that keeps me from trying IVAO) and jump in.
-
Jen,
We (Management) are very sensible to you problem.
Soon we will start a training program to help pilots like you, who are afraid of making a mistake online.
Cyriel is the person responsible to our Online Flying and Traininng Area.
Regards,
-
and busy with setting up a training flight as we speak. And don't worry about making mistakes. Everyone does (including the ATC self). We try to make it as real as possible but there are limits:P
If you don't want to wait until the training setup is finished check EGLL_APP in the evening's if you see me online. One thing is sure. You do not have to be afraid of me.;D
-
Yep, when I was a begginer pilot I imagined the ATC 's as something comparable to a god, in which you could rely on to get you down safely even if you did everything wrong, them never making mistakes.
A time after, I started as an ATC, and I can tell you, ATC's DO make mistakes, myself as an example.
Cyriel is right, get Servinfo (If you dont already), and you might want to go to the "Selected Details" section, and enter the names of a few EHM members that you have seen/heard of in the forum (for example).
Youll be amazed how if not on the first day, on the second you will see an EHM member controlling somewhere across the world.
Cheers and hope to see you online at any future event!
Alex;)
-
Well, it is good to know that (judging from the results of the poll on the main page) I'm not the only one in this boat!
If anyone needs to find me, I'll be the one immersed in the EHM Online Flying Manual and the IVAO tutorials... LOL. ;D
Thanks for the encouragement!
-
Hi Jen,
Glad to see that You fly online. Be sure to visit LHBP, I often control there. :)
Gergely
-
Thanks Gergely... I decided to make my first run at using IvAp in the wee hours of the morning and in an uncontrolled area... but it's a step in the right direction. ;D

Not trying to be off putting here. But EHAM is a nasty place to fly online. :] Honestly, it can get very busy, and they normally like you to get the addon for the new runway. I didnt do that. :$
-
Woops, wasn't aware of the IVAO pirep stuff.... Anyway did only one flight for the moment.
Won't forget to fill the IVAO pirep after the next one !
-
OK I've looked at that link, but all I see is where the menu is supposed to be is the failed to load image (red-cross) symbol and I can't do anything!
Thanks
-
Check that you have Java installed correctly, or try updating it.
http://java.sun.com
Saying that you will probably find the menu changes in the near future to a much more PC friendly menu (not as nice looking though).
-
Which d/load(s) do I need?
-
Try this link.....
http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp
If not there is a manual download available here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
The link in the previous post looked more complicated than I remember :-S
-
I've clocked up knocking on for thirty hours on IVAO that has been recorded as pilot time and I always file a flight plan. However I didn't even know of the need to file a PIREP with IVAO. Do I need to go back through my online flights at EHM and get the details to file on IVAO?
-
Phil, you only need to log the flight with IVAO if it was for Euroharmony using a EHM callsign and one of the time tabled flights...IVAO automatically logs the hours you spend on IVAO but doesnt log them for the airline...most of the info you need is in the flights section of your pilot data on this site except for distance of flight and flight plan.....
-
I would love to post my PIREP's but i am not actually listed as being part of this VA, so don't have the option to do so!!!
HELP PLEASE
-
Digging up an old topic here Chris, anyhow, to quote Gergely's original post in the Announcement forum:-

Gergely
But having looked, you'd probably be better off at http://www.ivao.org/members/virtual_airline/admin/va_details.asp?Id=5380

right so i have click on become a member, although i am already registered here...hope that this is correct
-
:'( I WANT TO FLY ONLINE TOO!!! BUT I CAN NOT DUE TO POOR LINE CONDITIONS!!! :'( I AM VERY SAD ABOUT THIS... AND ANGRY!!! :{
-
HELP!!!
I'm still struggling with this. I am already a member at IVAO and the two links above don't seem to help me tie my membership into the EHM membership.
One link takes me to a static information page, the other takes me to a page about joining EHM that lets me fire off an e-mail to EHM. I just want a button to click in IVAO that says I am already a member of EHM and can this be tied to my IVAO stats etc.
-
Click the button that fires off the email to EHM, then someone with the power will accept you into the IVAO EHM section and set callsign etc...you just need to click that one button :]
-
yeah it says become a member!!!
didn't take long for me to get the e-mail that says i have been accepted, and then i can post all my PIREPS!!! :>
But can i only post the online ones or can i also post the offline ones??
-
im like the only person who dont fly with ivoa lol
i fly with vatsim... becosue ivoa dont work.
-
It does - and it's a hell of a lot easier to use the VATSIM.
Squawkbox aaaaaaaaaaargh! No offense to the people who make it, of course!
-
i have never used squawkbox, although i find the selection for the Euro harmony planes when using IVAP very confusing...i think that i will need to remove it all together and then start again.
Ben says that the i have a strange issue with my IVAP and he dosn't know what it is!!!
-
Chris,
I meant IvAp has issues with this....
eg. if you select GLID (for Glider) you can't send your flight plan because nothing will appear in the MTL section ;)
-
ahh rite...so what do i need to put as my MTL part for the euro harmony aircraft...is there a list that i can find somewhere???
if not then i would like to put it through as a site sugestion...although can't remember if there is such a place in this site!
-
Well when you need to find the ICAO code for an aircraft, you can search the IVAO database here http://www.ivao.org/db/aircraft. Then type in part of the name in the search section and it will give you the ICAO code. Hopefully when you put this in the top of the flightplan it will come up with some MTL suggestions in the MTL section.
-
no i can find the plane alrite on the plane list...the problem comes when selecting the MTL...there is no plane that is of the same number...ie nothing that says B747 (although this is there...couldn't remember what was missing).if what i have just said is unclear then say and i will take some screen shots of what i get.
-
Ok, you will have to select a different plane in the top section, so if you are using a prop plane, just select B350, and same in the bottom for example.
This will hopefully get fixed soon.....Gergely?

Like Ben says, pick a plane of equivalent size from the MTL list, and indicate in your FP notes what you are really flying (this just makes it easier for other pilots, ATC always "see" what you are really flying)
So, when I fly the IVAO VFR WT in the Piaggio P180 Avanti, I use the Beech KingAir MTL model (about the right size and cruise speed, and the KA is also a twin prop)
-
The Problem is that i don't have that plane listed in the second section
this is what i get
(http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-2/944399/FLTSIM.jpg)
and the problem i have is not knowing what to put into the bottom section
Can I put the D328...is looking at things is it quite similar
-
Send your Flight Plan 1st, then the top box will be filled in automatically. If there is a correct model in the MTL library, then that will automatically appear in the bottom box. Otherwise, just select from the bottom list the acft that is most like what you are actually flying.
-
yeah, so for the euro harmony prop planes can i use the D328...Ben said to use the B350, although this is not on the bottom list at all!!!
i think that Ben may have meat to put the B350 in to the top box. although with most of the EuroHarmony planes i can actually find them in the top box!!
