Hello everybody, hope your all keeping well , l was wondering if any body is useing a Navigraph navigation data subscription, will it work with FSX, , and is it easy to use for a none Techie, if you download the monthly subscription will that stay on the PC or be deleted after a month , finding FSX so outdated, and with Ivao new rules that you must have updated nav data to fly on line in controlled airspace , my online activity is a bit limited at the times l can fly, sorry for the long posting . Regards Bruce EHM2131.

Hi Brian. Like you I'm not to Techie myself, i can only presume it depends on how often you want to fly on-line whither its worth the £9 for the month or £80 to cover the year a wee bit pricey eh but worth it over a year.
I am sure Navigraph still provides for FSX
I hope someone else can put you on track. ;)

I have not purchased a Navigraph subscription yet. I am considering it for the new year, but so far I have had enough in finding up-to-date charts by googling "[ICAO] charts", or "[ICAO] AIP".
Not sure about FSX, because I fly MSFS2020 almost exclusively these days. But I ran into a nav data issue nevertheless the other day. Flying to Bata (FGBT) in Equatorial Guinea, My PMDG 737-800 had everything needed in the nav database, but the entire airport did not exist in MSFS2020 ::)
There was one tile the had the Bing maps image of the threshold of the runway, but the remainder was default tiles with grass and trees. As far as nav data goes, there was ony the BT VOR. But my 737 would let me program in the ILS approach nevertheless. Difficult when approaching minimums and not even the VOR has captured, let alone the GS :D
The real challenge was the next flight getting out of there. As the airport does not exist in MSFS2020, I could only set a GPS point as a User point of departure, but with a 737, that will put you up 31000 ft in the air. In a cold and dark state... That will overstress the airframe before you regain control. So Ihad to find naother airport nearby, fly to that non existant airpot, and start my flight from there.
Now, Navigraph would not have solved that issue completely, but it would have put the ILS into the sim (LOC and GS), making thisgs a touch easier.
But then again, that was the only issue I have had so far, and I get by fine with the free SimBrief without Navigraph subscription.
The argument that with a subscription you have the charts available "in sim" through the tablet is of no extra value for me, because I always have a browser open on my second screen anyway, and that will display the charts even bigger.
So I am still on considering a subscription, purely for the up to date nav data and easier to find (always in the same place) charts. But I consider it a luxury, rather than a necessity.

Hello All, Thank you for your input on the subject, my mind has been made up, today l received an E-Mail from IVAO HQ informing me that from 1st of January 2025 they will end connection to the network with IVAP, that is what l use to get connected, so far l have not been able to get Altitude to work on my computer after many attempts, l will try again over the Christmas period, if l still cannot get it to work l will go back to when l started my Sim flying on Vatsim, in my opinion the push towards "As real as it gets " they seem to have lost the sense that at the base of the flight sim is a computer game. l know my computer is like me getting old, but l cannot afford to invest in a new one, so l will have to stay as l am.
I wish you all a very happy Christmas and I hope you can enjoy the season with your families and relations, and hope 2025 will be a happy and prosperous and healthy year for us all,
My very best regards, Bruce EHM 2131
