Just wondering, what type of processors do you guys use for running FS? ;) Please vote for the one that will be in your new pc if you're going to build one soon (within the next 3 months) :P

Pentium 4 ofcourse. Athlons are produced on wafer scanners build by ASML. I work for ASML and know nothing good can come from chips produced on our machines;D ( must add we are the market leader by far and Intel will use them too soon).

The more modern Pentium 4s are even better for that ;) its a role reversal since AMD introduced it's Athlon64s and Intel messed up their Pentium 4s :]

In fact the Pentium 4s are technically the underdogs performance wise even now!

Hmm.......In all areas except some form of media encoding, the AMD64 beats the Pentium 4 significantly.....and for your information, the newer Pentium 4s are the ones which is extremely hard to cool down even with water cooling :P ;)

Reviving an old thread here, my AMD AthlonMP 1900+ system (1202MHz overclocked to 1404MHz) never gets above 27° C, and yes, thats with water cooling (an old Koolance box with new guts...) ;D

I'm hoping to be able to push my new 3200+ by a similar value. If I remember, I'll do a few shots when I put the new CPU in it...

And re: the poll (haven't voted yet, just in case it's timed out) I'm an AMD fanboy, have been since I built my first PC, and chances are I will be until I die (which I hope won't be soon). My next mobo/cpu will be the Gigabyte nForce 4 SLi and a socket 939 Athlon64...

my XP2000 does me good although is about due for an upgrade!!!

really want a sempron or a 64bit!!!

although this means more money...which i don't have!!!

But i wouldn't touch the intel stuff with a barge poll...except for the centrino laptops...the extended battery life is SWEET!!

I really want an AMD64 X2 Dual Core processor, at the moment have AMD 2800+:%

Ideal system for me:

AMD 64 X2 Dual Core processor
Asus A8N-SLi motherboard (incl nVidia SLi chipset) - overclocks briliantly
2x 6800 Ultras (dribble dribble)
SoundBlaster Soundcard
+ all the other stuff to make it work
