I'm new here and I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I've thoroughly picked through the website (I'm a bus driver who obviously has too much time on her hands in real life - hehe). I have also perused the message boards here and I just wanted to say that I'm very impressed by all the hard work that has obviously been put into this VA and by the friendly attitudes of all the people here.
I look forward to getting to know everyone better!

Ah, so you are the Lady that Robert pointed out in an earlier post, welcome aboard and we hope you enjoy your time with us
-
Hi Jen,
oops, I think SHE is not SHE Razza ;) . Do not care about rumors, Jen ;D
Welcome in the community, I am sure you will spend your freetime here with excellent pleasure.
-
No Razza, this is another Woman. Our second female/woman pilot, she has started flying from EGLL.
Jen, welcome to Euroharmony one of the best airlines in Europe. We are a friendly bunch of people so if there is anything we can help you with just say the word, and I'm sure someone will try and help you
-
Rummors, Me?:'( I saw this
obviously has too much time on her hands
and thought her obviously means lady/female
-
OK, I thought about Natalie from Austria, and not Jen from the US. ;D
-
Hi Jen, welcome to this wonderful world.;D
-
Hi Jen,
Let me personally welcome you to EuroHarmony. :)
You are the third active lady at EHM out of more than 1500 registered pilots.
Thanks and see you in the skies!
Do you fly online too?

Hi Jen! Welcome to Euroharmony and the forums!
-
Welcome aboard Jen. If like me you are relatively new to this world then you will find this VA the best out there. People always very friendly and keen to help. Maybe we will see you on IVAO some time...?
-
Welcome aboard Jen. ;)

Thanks everyone!
I'm not too sure I'll be on IVAO anytime soon... somehow the thought of making a mistake doesn't seem quite so bad if I'm making the mistake offline.
I'm afraid that I'd miss a protocol or make some other blunder and be forever known as a dunderhead.
I'm sure it's not quite so extreme, but as you can see, I'm a little apprehensive.
Are most people who fly online understanding of the learning curve and all that?
-
Bon arrivee' a' EuroHarmony Jen...
As someone who now flies (pretty much) exclusively online, I think my contribution to the thread will be:-
We were all noobs to begin with (even me with my well over 500hrs piloting online on IVAO). I'm sure, like most other folks, you'll take to online flying like a duck to water, especially since IVAO released their new pilot client to the clammering masses.
Given your geographical position, I wouldn't expect there would be much ATC about (in Europe) when you would do the majority of your flying, so the only person you'll need to impress is yourself...
-
Hi Jen, welcome aboard!
Tell us something about how you got into FSing, what do U do in life etc...
It's not an everyday news we see female pilots.
I remember online encounter once with a German lady, as well as another one that was ATC at Vienna.
That's all from my experience, I know there are alot somewhere in the skies...:)
Cheers!
-
It will probably sound odd, but I got into FSing because I was afraid to fly. In the past when I was a commercial passenger I'd be the one that you'd see ordering several gin and tonic's in hopes of either passing out or being so looped that I wouldn't care when it came time for the dreaded landing.
I figured that learning how flying works would make me comfortable with it. Now I love it and in real life I have the opportunity to go to school to get my private pilot, commercial pilot, and instructor licenses through a local college. Now it's just a matter of saving money for books!
For work I drive a 72 passenger bus. It's not quite as much fun as flying, but I still enjoy it.
Thanks!
-
Well its good to have someone like you onboard, with ambitions like that, you will get far in this airline!;)
-
Where in the PNW do you live...I live in Seattle and yeah welcome aboard
-
We're practically neighbors (relatively speaking)... I'm in Portland.
-
Hi Jean,
Welcome aboard our virtual airline.
If you need any help on something, please post. You will not get one answer, you'll get ten.
Good flights and again, welcome.

Hiya and Welcome! ;D ;D can't believe the second one came so quickly on the heels of the first one :P anyway have a great time! hope to catch you flying on the ACRAS! (if you fly using the logger and connected to the internet that is)
hmm.......just noticed......you're 2004 years old :]
-
Thanks... I have been flying connected to the net and using the logger, so hopefully I do show up on ACARS (it's so much easier using the logger... I don't know what I'd do without it now!!). I have to say, this VA is excellent! You can really tell that a lot of time and energy goes into making it as nice as it is.
I noticed that it says I'm 2004 years old also... and just after I'd accepted the fact that I just turned 30! ;D
-
Just saw you flying yesterday night :P
-
Hi Jen,
I have seen your profile and there is not a birthdate entered, that is why you are reported as veteran aged ;) but still so young for flying ;D
-
So If jen is 2004, and still young for flying, ehat does that make me and the rest of the younger pilots, toddlers, sorry if i'm making the golden oldies fell well, old
LOL
Sorry i'm getting carried away
-
It means that most of us are still in the womb :P
-
I'm not sure why I didn't enter a birthdate on my profile (feeling old that day I guess!)... I know that I did enter it for the forum profile, but that's probably different, huh?
I know what it was... I must have subconsciously made it say that I'm 2004 years old on purpose so that when you all found out that I'm really thirty I'd seem quite young in comparison. ;D
-
Nothing wrong with being thirty Jen...happens to us all at somepoint. We are just that bit older and wiser!! LOL
-
Wiser, I cannot say I agree more Jim, i might be quite clever for my age but I lack common sense, c i cammot evim spelm, propezlit
That was supposed to say I cannot spell properly
-
Hi,
Date of birth corrected. It should display correctly now.
-
Jim - I'm not sure that I'd go as far as saying I'm wiser... unless just learning how to stay out of trouble better as the years go by counts! ;)
Razza - I'm sure you've got plenty of common sense... and a good sense of humor to boot!
Maarten - Thank you for correcting the date!
