Title: Favourite Class2 aircraft
Post by: EHM-1001 Robert on December 08, 2004, 09:29:19 pm
Dear pilots,

although there are only a few of us, who frequently visit the forums, I am curious about your opinion of the EHM fleet aircrafts/models. Which is your favourite, which is you like/ not like?

After statistics (number of PIREPs) the sympathy order looks like this in Class2:
1. Dornier 328
2. ATR 42
3. Antonov 140

Thanks in advance.

Definately the Dornier. The other has a cockpit all in Russian which i must confess is not my first language!!! Again, Dornier worked well with FS9.

I like the Antonov best.

Most instruments look standard, like in other aircraft and for the russian - labeled switches and instruments you can use the tool - tip - function, until you know what most of them are used for.

Dornier 328. It flies easyly and works fine with FS2004. I wont learn Russian to fly the Antonov.
I am missing a DeHavilland Dash8 in our fleet. This is a fine plane for point-to-point services between small regional airports. In Germany it is used in reallife for instance by Augsburg Airways since it can operate from small airports with only 1200 m of runway.

I like the AN 140, that has good climbing performance but not as good as the Dash 8.

AN 140, haven't flown it so much this time around. But did fly across Australia in the begining of the year. (when EHM was out of commission)

Well, since I'm new never had the occasion to fly the ones from the VA, but I have to say I love the ATR 42 from aerosoft.
Yeah a Dash 8 would be great (for the fans, try the one from PSS it's really enjoyable)

ATR Aircraft Corp has some convincing demonstrations on their website. It shows the ATR to be a more rugged and pilot friendly aircraft than the Dornier 328.

Never liked the AN-140 for FS9 and I'm a huge fan of Russian aircraft. EHM's AN-140 flies like a jet and completely unrealistic turboprop performance. I tried to fix it but, I don't have any data on it.
