Just reached final cruise on my first flight in I don't know how long (EHM or otherwise) [EHM-1000 EGLL to EGHD] and I'm wondering if the Flight Logger will ever be coming back?
I used to enjoy the fact that it did all the mundane work while I could get on with flying and writing up my pilots notes.

In the absence of the EHM flight logger there is an alternative. By registering with air source you could use the AAS software to capture the data about your flight. You would need to enter the flight as a personal one at first and ensure that you don't submit the PIREP to air source at the end. Then, simply copy the data into the EHM PIREP online. Advantages are the data is recorded automatically, including fuel and flight times. Also, you get some fairly decent sound effects during flight including the stewardess giving a safety briefing and the seatbelt sign pinging on and off.

Well, I've registered, downloaded AAS and it's latest update patch, and I'll see what happens...

I think you'll like it especially when you get to flying the larger passenger jets becase the sound effects on the flight deck and in the cabin behind are a little cool. (They'll probably irritate me after a while but for now they add something to the experience.)

I once had an add-on installed with all sorts of sound-effects, like safety breefings and things like that. But after a while it gets mighty annoying, and you feel the urge to trow the flight-attendant out of the door, if that wouldn't lead to sudden decompresion. ;D

Are you refering to the flightdeck sound effect panel?

It was part of a B737-panel package. I deleted a time ago, and don't know exactly what its exact name was.

oh and about the screenshots posted of the flightlogger
!!! What a great tool! Great job done! hmm.......so does that mean that you guys will know when we fly circles around an airport with autopilot cause we forgot to check on our planes? :P

Don't your passengers kick up holy ****? Apart from anything, too much of this and your hub manager will pop up and query your fuel and time for the flight. It sounds like a dodgy practise to me submitting such data. Apart from anything ... if this happens to you what were you doing? Surely the joy of this virtual airline is to heighten the simulated experience of being a pilot - if you wind up going round and round your destination airport I'm guessing you've also forgotten to descend and maybe ... just maybe ... left your flight for more than fifteen minutes (read the EHM operations manual as this is the max.)

If there are people who do not want to use the ACARS function then I'll talk with Armando about the possibility to add an on/off button to the ACARS part of the logger.
You all may wonder what we are going to do with the data from the ACARS. At this moment we plan to use it to make a map with all EuroHarmony aircraft, so the visitor can see who is flying. Ofcourse there may be more possibilities, but this is something we are going to start with. (and I already said too much;))

? so i guess the manual has been updated.......have not been reading it since the site crashed........but anyway that situation was before the crashed so hopefully i didn't break any rule (or maybe i didn't read it thoroughly enough).......however with the fifteen minute rule......it means that we can no longer fly class 7 flights through the night and to land when we wake up in the morning......... maybe there could be an exception for that class?
and about the flying circles around an airport, fortunately it does not happen very often, and most of the time even if it did, the most circles made stands at five or so........so not too much of an impact! :P but i'll be sure to take more notice from now on!
oh and great feauture there maarten! I'll definitely welcome the ACARS
