Title: IVAO, IVAP & Cia
Post by: EHM-1442 Luis on January 24, 2005, 11:07:31 am
I need some help

1 - When i try to send a PIREP to IVAO the answer is " you can't send PIREPS, because you are not a active pilot".
My EHM pilot status is active, but i'm not in the IVAO VA system. How can i correct this?

2 - I read somewhere that we must use the flight number as callsign. On IVAP(FlightPlan) i had the callsign = flight number and a few minutes online, i saw this inform - " Offline -[ERROR] your callsign is invalid "
I changed to my EHM pilot ID and i finished the flight without problems.

Thanks in advance for your help

Luis

Hi

1 - Fixed it, please try now to report

2 - Use EHM + flight number, so EHM3527 (or EHM527) instead of just 3527. Alternatively You can use your pilot ID.

You need to log in to your user account on the IVAO HQ website and "attach" yourself to the EHM VA.  Go to this page:
http://www.ivao.org/members/virtual_airline/admin/va_details.asp?Id=5380
and select 'Become member'.

I have also read that (it's in the Operations Manual and the Online Flying Manual), but to be honest I always fly on IVAO using my pilot ID, since that way it's unlikely there will be a callsign clash. IVAN (the IVAO network) does seem happier when pilots are using unique callsigns.

Just a question: is it a mandatory to file PIREP for IVAO? Is it necessary for the pilot, or for the VA, or what?

SirRoberto, filling in the IVAO PIREP is not mandatory but does help the airline. IVAO automatically logs your hours on-line for them but doesnt associate them with the airline. I think the airline is required to fly 2hrs a week in total between all it's members in order to keep it's IVAO status....however, the more hours we can log, the more likely we will be to get our own livery in the MTB database so others can see us for our true colours!!!

and ....

There is also a rating on the VA I think so ....

The more we fly, more rating we have.

it is done manually, usually takes about one day.
