i dunno...it wasn't my fault...d**n head wind...slowed me rite down!!

are you ment to set it up so that you can never run out of fuel then?

i'm just saying that maybe you should have adjusted your cruise speed according to the headwind/tail wind that you get

Knowing the wind is part of the preparation of the flight.
Not having 45 mins reserve in IFR is illegal ;)
Adjust your flight level when you have strong headwind...
If you can't... call a flying tanker ;D

yeah i had reserve fuel...but couldn't work out how to use it...or if it uses automatically then i have no idea why i ran out?

i think that it is just best to fill the plane right up, this way i shouldn't run out!!!:>

chris, when we talk about reserve fuel, we mean putting enough fuel for the journey in the tanks, and then some more cause I always underestimate, and then some more as reserve fuel, and then adjust to make way for the headwind, this way u will never run out.

also if u can see that you are not going to make your destination, then divert to the alternate instead.

yeah i have only just realised now how to do the whole divert thing!!!

and i now understand...hopefully though i will not have the same problems.
