My only regret if i can become an airliner pilot someday... Kai Tak is closed :/
But I still can land in FS, with the good old checkerboard ^^

I would recommend this DVD http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=ITV-74C-001

It's very instructive for people who didn't have the guts or time to go through the 747-400 Aircraft Operating Manual by Boeing, or master 744 PS1 simulator from Aerowinx.
Several good things explained, and nice landing at Kai Tak.

It can be useful too to prepare for the PMDG 744

I have a commercial scenery for the area called Hong Kong 2004, I like very much, reopens Kai Tak, ads IGS signal and associated NDBs etc, all buildings with photographic textures, the checkerboard, the stadium, all the landmarks, the IGS transmitter...

Have it too, but not using it anymore, it's nice but a real framerate killer, and not looking that smooth :/

The only disappointment for me are the mountains, otherwise my PC is up to the FRs and I get about 20FPS.

And it's not blending well with the terrain, sometimes I was seeing strange stuff instead of water.

Sorry for the delay, took a while to host 21 images on ImageShack.

This is a 737 making the full rwy 13 IGS approach, with a CC feed in.

At 8000, heading 270, towards CC, looking back towards the airport.

Looking over to the rather unrealistically textured CLK ( but this is not the highlight of the scenery...

After the middle marker bleeps, FDs off, GPWS Glideslope mode off, full visual, and in a 737 approx 15* bank turn. I have had too much 744 practice and banked too hard, got inside the approach lights. Note apartment blocks and chinese signs.

After a little adjustment and help from the wind 230@8, I got this one nice and soft on the centerline.

Well, ok no texture problem with the water, but seeing that now, compared to many other addons, the textures looks bad, so does the buildings... Too bad, don't think I'll reinstall
Anyway all my flights lately are repaint tests and online for EHM in Europe :8
