On June the 4th there will be an crowded skies event again. This time the event will take place on the North American continent. I'm sure many of you can still remember last years event and it was a great one. All the more reason to be present again at this one. We planned a flight of around 2 hrs from Boston to Washington. People wanting to do longer flights are of course welcome to do. It is suggested however to try and arrive at Washington around 21.00Z to meet the rest.

More information can be found on the Online FLying pages
The first one to arrive is asked to open a Teamspeak channel on the GB server called Euroharmony to be able to discuss the event afterwards.

I'll hopefully be there....but just a suggestion - first one to arrive make a EHM channel on the DE6 server (wasn't aware there was a GB TS server anymore ;))

Enjoyed the event aswell, though we werent many EuroHarmony planes online.

We "only" had about one hour delay in Boston :)

Here are some more controller pics from KJFK. They had so much traffic, that they had to direct some to alternate airports. Some pilots have also circled too much and started having low fuel.. Very real life :)

You didn't wait for an hour (and a quarter), that was my part.

Things started off badly when i joined the session on top of someone else and had to slew to a free gate. I requested my clearance from ground who promptly left and all was handed over to tower. It was too much to cope with and the backlog of clearances got larger and larger.

The other 3 who attended were on voice and got their clearances fairly promptly. I repeatly requested clearance and was told to expect substantial delys.

So I got ready to sit it out. half and hour (by this time all other EHM's were in the air)... three quarters of an hour... an hour... i was repeatedly requesting clearance.

I got sanded (so my hours wouldn't count on IVAO) to add to the problems.

It got to 1h15m and I thought right, that's it and gave up. It was a real shame cos I wanted to take part and it wasn't my fault at all. Obviously voice seemed to have priority with this controller. If i did have voice then I would have probably got on my way well before, but as it was, I couldn't wait any longer.

I wanted the extra EHM hours as well, so I can get up to the 737s sooner. But I can't report a flight with no takeoff time, no fuel used, no pax carried, and waited 1h15m for clearance in the comments box.

Oh well, I'll have to wait for next time. I heard you say it would in Vatsim, Cyriel, in which case, I can't go, cos all those patches baffle me: SBHost, SBRelay, SB etc...

I'm just upgrading to the new version of IVAP new.

Ben: is it? Have I missed out on something big? In which case I'll sign up quick. Just let me get new MTL and IVAP sorted out and then I'll check it out.

Ian yep you really missed out on somehitn big. Vatsim is using SB3 now which is the same idea as IVAP. It is fully integrated into FS like IVAP. It also includes the voice client. What SB 3 does not have is a MTL library as far as I know. I have to admit I did not instal SB3 yet but it should be fairly simple.

WHat is the reason you do not have voice btw?

I dunno, family I guess most of all (and my voice sounds real stupid through the mic).

Where do you get the MTL (or CSL or whatever) for SB?

Been a while since I installed any of the new VATSIM software (which reminds me...), but from what I can remember the SB3 installation is extraordinarily simple (click "next" through the installer...) and the AVC install (when I test installed it) was much the same.

Can't comment on the CSL/MTL for SB3/VATSIM though, never got that far (had no intention of attempting to fly on VATSIM at the time)... ;D

Can't do Vatsim - not the software, but the registration. They don't allow any webmail service as an email address, and I only have a webmail address (gmail).

I guess I'll just have to stick to IVAO (which I love). I have IVAP v1.0.0 and MTLv2 all packages now.

How can we get our EHM repaints onto the MTL? I see that they are on the VAtsim CSL from screenshots but not IVAO. I think that that would greatly improve the experiance with IVAO.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. They don't want any members in my opinion ;) - I tried asking them to accept an e-mail address given to me by my ISP, but oh no....not good enough for them :P

So they will not accept free addresses nor an addres given to you by your ISP? Which addresses do they accept then? Anyhow we have an invitation to do the fly-in so I will ask they guy who invited us about this. This will be intresting;)

And Ben in your case you should be able to use you EHM address. Any body else has any problems please let me know and I will see what I can do. Maybe they will accept if I validate the addresses or smething.

I flew from Chicago to Washington. By the time I arrived everyone had gone home - I think the ATC was closing behind me as I flew! It was great having ATC from the ground at Chicago all the way to the ground at Washington - very realistic

I had a friend controlling Chicago Centre which is why I flew from there.

Cyriel,

I have been registered on VATSIM for well over a year, it was just a lot of effort ;) - don't worry about me

ISPs SHOULD be accepted (like they say I believe on the registration form), but certain ones were rejected. Unfortunatley I have since deleted the e-mail that I received when I tried to argue my case to them. Basically he said there was nothing he could do.

Ian, You really don't seem keen to get on VATSIM :D

It's not totally legal, but I can lend my VATSIM account for some specific event.
I'm now on IVAO and I don't intend to go back to VATSIM.

I want to do the flyin, and if it means grueling through some stupid registration process which doesn't want you to join, then I'llk have to.

I guess I'm happy that I chose IVAO over VATSIM now.

Anyway, back to another question - how do we get EHM repaints on the IVAO MTL?

We have to make them, and submit it to IVAO MTL division.
I have already planned to do as much as i can of the repaints starting july during my summer holidays.

OK, well done maabaa for taking the plunge. I think it would be a real boost to get our own liveries in the online skies.
