Hi mates,
just to read something positive too on this forum, the Hungarian "Fleet management team" visited the one and only annual Hungarian Air Show at Kecskemét in the weekend.
Kecskemét is the largest military airport in Hungary in the heart of the country, which is homebase of the Hungarian Air Force leading fighter squadrons: Mig-29s, and will be the base of future JAS-39 Gripen fighters.
In the air show there were 2 major performances, one from Turkish Stars (Turkish Air Force with Northrop F-5 "Tiger"s) and the Frecce Tricolori (Italian Air Force with Aermacchi MB-339s) next to other Hungarian and international planes...like Polish helicopters, Dutch F-16s, Swedish Gripens, Mirage-2000...
At the end of the airshow there was a special race. A Hungarian radio showman was racing on the backseat of a Gripen, with a Hungarian F-1 commentator riding the RedBull F-1 car. The Gripen was flying low altitude and low speed, while the F-1 car tried to speed up and overtake the Gripen. This was kind a foolish and macho race that was excited the whole country this week, but it was a great show and the spectators liked it.
We take many photos, I hope we can post here some digital ones later
