Vacation is over and done with. It is time to get back to business again. But who said work can not be fun? Work also means it is time for an online fy-in again. This time we will fly from busy Schiphol to a challenging landing in Innsbruck, Austria. Full ATC in Austria is expected so make sure to bring your procedure maps!

More info can be found on Online Flying Pages

URL fixed by Murray. Now go and have a break Cyriel... :)

Ahh good i have been waiting for another fantastic fly-in...i should be there, but will have to confirm nearer the date.

Will be great, this time i'll fly a jet, and will hopefully keep up with everyone else, and not have to fly around like my first attempt at a fly in :$

Barring accident/incident I'll be there in one of the 737-800's.

For those of us that like to take the realism to frightening levels, I'm on the lookout for charts/procedures.

For EHAM, I'm going to recommend The Netherlands AIS Integrated Package Page

I'm still looking into LOWI... more news when I have it...

You stole my link! ;D

For some reason, I never trust IVAO chart links, but the one from IVAO-AT is good... assuming that the Austrian ATC don't expect us to use the most current NOTAM/AIS updates :)

Yeah I know but it came up with a list of upteen restrictions with times and I caouldn't be bothered to check all of them to see if they would be in effect at the time of the flyin ;)

(NOTE: That's what I'm here for... :))

See my editted post above, with appropriate RAD/CDR restrictions applied... And given it'll be an ALGOI arrival, hope everyone's holds are up to scratch... I'll be practicing programming holds into the PM CDU on Sunday ;D

Hmm my FS2004 didnt appear to have AMASI intersection...

But I added it in my flight planning tool as a coordinate so should be OK.

For those of you still using the FS GPS (like me :%) - if anyone wants the FS2004 .pln file of the route above to put in their Flight Simulator Files folder then see my post below - saves using the FS planner which generates wrong routes.

So we're sorted for charts, what about freeware scenery/meshes?

EHAM is once again easy; the NL2000 Project

What about LOWI?

And given we're landing in the Alps, a good freeware mesh?

(I'm just downloading a bucket-load of LOWI freeware (airport scenery, INN scenery and Switzerland/Austria mesh) from Heather Aviation Ltd, but until I get it all home and install it, can't comment on quality...)

http://www.euroharmony.com/~forum/viewthread.php?tid=1400

This was a thread a while ago - has links to three excellent freeware sceneries including mesh for LOWI and some screnies of the LOC DME WEST approach, circling to RWY08 (the hardest approach at LOWI).

I have uploaded the flightplan file to the web. This has the correct route, it is in FS2004 format. Download it here. Choose save and browse to My Documents>Flight Simulator Files and save it there.

Load FS. Click Flight Planner, and choose load. Select ehamlowi.pln. when you start the flight, you will be in a random place. Slew to a gate or taxiway, then connect as usual.

Hopefully, I should be there, I may be a few minutes late depending on whether I can get off work early!

Remember, be gentle with me, it's my first time. ;)

Cheers,

Hey Iain thanks for the .pln file.

i had exactly the same problem wioth that intersection!!!

Normally The FS GPS is alrite, and does what i want it to do.

also though that doing this may make it easier for everyone.

the other thing that you can do in FS set up on the gate ready to go but not put in a flight plan.

then go:

Alt (To Get Toolbar) -> File -> Flight Plan -> Load Up The Flight Plan -> When Asked If Want To Go To Destination Just Say NO!!!

Yeah, you can put the gate in the FP, but then everyone using the file would be at the same gate - not a good idea.

The Setup thing was unclear.

just setup the flight sim as normal, and then use your Fp as it is, but when asked if you want to change to the location on the FP say NO!!!

Or just slew...i don't care.

well there is a ground chart showing general airport layout.
It displays taxiways, hold points and stuff like that.
