Yea...but Football (soccer) is more widely played than American Football...We never call it soccer...and It was founded before american football....1863 for english football 1876 for american....

So our Football in europe was the original and the best football...
Sorry my opinion, i hate the word soccer

This sure is turning into some sort of a "word debate";D;D;D

I would still like to point out 1 thing.

FIFA(It is in french)=Federation Internationale De Football Association

P.S. I am not shouting, just trying to highlight the word;D

and 1 last thing, I thought this topic was supposed to discuss football or soccer whatever you want to call it in the FIFA WC.

Lets get back on track now...;D

ok, the first match is Germany vs. Costa Rica at the Allianz Arena.

My God what a Worl Cup is this!!!
I had bet to Chech, then to Italy, then to France and they all ended in a draw!!! :!
To be exact Check actually did lose to Ghana :o
Is it any kind of bad-luck-wave or it's my guess???

Please, whenever you want to bet to a match feel free to ask me, and then you will know what exactly not to bet to! :]

You must recognize that France isn´t performing very well this World Cup :%(I mean, they don´t play as nice as they used to do a few years ago)

And, in relation to Spain:> ; this year, all Spanish we are delighted with our team performance :] SPAIN 3   -    TUNIS 1. Classified for 1/8 final.;D

I'm not that much of a football fan, not even when our own team are playing. But I don't really see what the Spanish are so delighted about. It's a fact that if they hadn't had the last 20 min of the game, then the spanish would be singing a different song right now.

It really pains me to say this, but after tonights match, I think England can book their tickets home after the next match. I know we have Equador who were well beaten by Germany today but our defence fell apart for the first time since the tournament started tonight. Well done to Sweden, you gave us a good run for your money and were unlucky not to have won.

I personally think Spain could go all the way, but I think Argentina have had the best start and are my tip for the tournament.

I am so sad about Italy. We played really well against Ghana but against USA we did our worst match ever (Maybe the 2000 Euro-cup final was even worst...:>)....Hope to beat Czech....and not to play in the 16s against Brazil....

Like I said football don't do that much for me. So I didn't that match, or even the match against TUNIS. But I did pass by the match a few times, so I know that Spain was behind the first 70 min of the game. But my point was. If Spain hadn't had the good last 20 min they did. Then Tunis would have been on first place of the group. And would have win the last match to be sure to classified for 1/8 final. However I don't think this is going to be a problem, don't think that many truly belives that Saudi Arabien can beat Spain.

btw: Phil I don't think England is going home before after the 1/4 final.

lol...Well, you must remember that Owen is only one member of the team...and the goals have came most often from Midfield, Frank Lampard is the player taking all the shots, and Gerard has two goals under his belt allready. After the Ecuador game Rooney should be fully Fit and everyone seems to be forgetting we did bring Theo Walcott along.

He may be inexperienced in these comps, but Sven brought him along for a reason!

Hello Folks,

after I watched the first half of Argentina Netherland, I come to the result
that the final in Berlin on the  9th of July will be Brasil - GERMANY ;)

Why:
Germany will win against Sweden, Argentina against Mexico too and then in the Quarter final we,...uppss Germany will send the ' Gouchos' back to Buenos Aires :]:] from there it's easy to reach the final where Brasil is already waiting in the middle of million germans in Berlin.....

Anyway we have almost every day a big party here in my city (Augsburg, 70km  west of munich) and I am really proud of all germans that we can say: ALL GUEST ARE VERY WELCOME indepent from which country they come....but my dutch friends forgive us when we already sing (in every german town): (sing:) " ohne Holland fahr'n wir nach Berlin" (without Holland we drive to Berlin)  :];D:]

Have fun and maybe I see some of you here in Germany...

best regards,

Kendy!

I only can agree Kendy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everbody is welcome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was now two times at the Large screen canvas in front of the Brandenburger Tor in Berlin and once in the Sony Center in Berlin.

Specialy at the Brandenburger Tor is a great Atmosphear all the time.
During the opening celebration celebration danced and have sang togehter with Italians, Mexicans, British and many many more people. All in all 250 000.

The liddle red arrow is showing on me. I am the cool guy with the sunglases:8

It was the time where Roman Keating shaked the hands of the fans.
I am no Roman Keating Fan but I was squeezed forward of 250 000:]

Who watched the Croatia vs Australia game?

I watched the entire game, and i could not leave the tv screen for 1 second.
The Aussie GK Kalac is lousy, should have played Schwarzer...even i could have saved Croatia's second goal;)

Simidic i think got 3 yellows and 1 red card....

Sorry Matt, but its Aussie going through:)
