As we cruise near northern Iberia...A lively discussion is started on...err...Beverages :%

And taxiing to the parking area with Tim...and his damaged wing...I'll let him explain... There was terrible wind shear around EHAM, and whilst i was on the ground, there were some shaky approaches. A friend of mine, Yorick, was observing and saw our landings, and said we were the smoothest of all arrivals that afternoon...God help the other passengers!



And that brings another fantastic flight to an end. A tricky approach to 27 was great fun...and i flew it visually...

Thanks to Tim and Robert for a great flight...Must do it again sometime!

What a great review !

Thank you for invitation. It was a great little flight. Although I had some problem because ActiveSky always gave me 70kn headwind and I could not maintain speed with the guys. At the end I had about 15 minutes gap from them.

Of course the heavy ATC coverage over Western-Europe was tricky again. Over France, the pilots were just chatting in French, bla. bla. bla. Over Belgium we were so close to destination that the ATC forced us to descend to steep. Over Netherland, the CTR was so noisy that we almost did not understand anything.

For me the hardest point was, when started my approach, and the ATC told me "Start river approach..." I was looking for a visible river in the region but could not find it. I realized too late that I have chart for approach starting at RIVER intersection Until that time he had to tell me in several ways, what turns he would like to see from me to make a nice STAR route. I am sorry Kendy, I need to learn much more from my HUBs procedures

And the whip on the cake: I was heading finally on the correct vector for 27 approach among the beautiful cumulus clouds, when my FS crashed... :s So it ended quite bad for me, but the flight and the conversations were very funny.

Also..In french airspace...the CTRL button was stuck down...so ATC could hear me all the time...and i was singing apparently! (badly) :$

Damaged Wing...

Well... (he I go on and on and on!)

We set of but as the other two were in nice big jets, I was in a small Raytheon Premier I, through out the flight I had a tail crosswind which caused some turbulence, french airspace was bad because I could get a word in!

Now the landing, well from about Fl200 downwards in was very and I mean very turbulent, wasn't a nice time, got onto the ILS after a nice detour over Amsterdam, the turbulence was so bad the plane was barely controllable, the KLM ahead report some rather large wind shear, and I thanked him for it, and when he contacted GND he wished me luck, and boy did I need it! At about ten feet the right wind dipped and hit the ground with a large scraping noise. Dang weather!

Well, I hate intersection names, they always confuse me when I fly online. Like in that case...I think I never forgot that one

Ususally I do not have complete charts, and if I had not used FSNAV, I would have been lost up there. I hate when they saying, fly direct to XXXXX intersection, which is not on my flightplan, or 100...200 nm in front of me...somewhere, and I cannot find it for minutes. But this way the ATC have an easier job because he led me out of his area with only 1 command. Why do not he say proceed as filed, and that is all?!
