Did anyone else go to the Fairford airshow today?

Here are my pictures, occasional comments when I can remember what was in the picture.

11 Red arrows Hawk's lined up

Utterly Butterly wing walking display team

Harrier jump jet hovering

Eurofighter Typhoon

Red arrows team

B1 noisy bomber

Swiss National Display Team

America's Big Stick, B52

The amazing Bell-Boing MV-22 Osprey Tilt-Rotor

A British Extra 300 display team

American military aircraft, old and new - P51 Mustang and F15 Eagle

Lancaster, Hurricane, Spitfire

A pretty smoke trail ;D

Some planes nearly crashing in a syncho maneuver

The Spanish display team

Making a 7-aircraft formation landing amid lots of tire smoke

The airfield

Comments please, and sorry for low res, my camera is only 3.1 Megapixels and I had to use the digital crop zoom.

can the V22 taxi like a normal plane? it seems like the blades would strike then ground.

Well, Tim, go on then, post your amazing pictures, we can't wait to see them all ;)

RE the V22, I believe it taxis with the rotor/props around 45* forward (from what  I saw)

Great shots Tim..... Was the Nimrod the MR4 version or the old MR2, I think from the tail it looks like a 4, if so, you may have been one of the lucky few who ever get to see her!

No Worries Tim. Although it wasn't one of the great V series bombers, it is now one of the only planes from that era left flying and I really hope that they sort out the MR4 rebuilds so her service life can be extended in to the next decade! (Of course the VC10 is still going, but I think her end is also very close.... SNIFF!!! :'(
