White background (How do you do it)

Hello all
Ive noticed that when someone quotes from a post and includes that in there post they somehow manage to show the quote with a white background(for emphasis).Can you tell me how to do that please?

at the top of the message you want to quote, there is a button in the right corner saying quote...

click that

By clicking that, a new reply box will open, with the Quoted text and relevant code, just make you message around it....

By clicking the quote above you message you get this....
