Hi guys (I guess you all have received this email :])

I would like to propose you a new fly'in, on IVAO Network, next Friday (15th September) at 21h00 (= 2000z), Lisbon local time.

Departure: LPPT (Lisbon)
Arrival: LPAZ (Santa Maria)

Alternative Airport: LPPD (Ponta Delgada)

The route will be:
LPPT SID BUSEN KOMUT 38N17W 38N20W DOKAS STAR LPAZ (730 nm)

Suggested FL: Between FL300 and FL360

Before departures I would like you connect your TeamSpeak here: ehmteamspeak.redirectme.net: 8737 for a meeting amoung all EHM's pilots.
Please connect with your EHM<Pilot Number> (First and Last Name).

LPPT charts are available here: http://www.ivaopt.org/fir/downloads/charts/LPPT.zip

LPAZ charts are available here: http://www.ivaopt.org/fir/downloads/charts/LPAZ.zip

LPPD charts are available here: http://www.ivaopt.org/fir/downloads/charts/LPPD.zip

This will be an Oceanic Flight, so do not forget basic rules:
1. Clearances and Oceanic Phraseology;
2. SELCAL code;

To learn some oceanic procedures read "How to..." -->> "Fly the NAT's" here: http://www.ivao.aero/flightops/

If you can fly that day, at that hour, please send to me an e-mail (ricardo@fly-euroharmony.com) with category of your aircraft (Light, Medium, Heavy),
the chosen Flight Level and Mach Number, in order to organize time slots for departures.

If you have some doubt or ideas, please feel free to contact me.

Best regards

Hi Ricardo! I will definitely be there.

What is a SELCAL code? There is a lot of terminology I do not know regarging oceanic flights, too, so I'll have to study up hard on that ;)

I will probably be there :P

If you need a good AFCAD file for LPAZ, that contains the Landing Lights (missing from default scenery) here it is: AF2_LPAZ.BGL You need to simply copy it under "..\FS2004\Addon Scenery\Scenery" and that is all.

Hi,

PMDG pilots: Don't forget that you need to enter those 2 geographical values on the FMC.

So,

38N17W = N38W017 (on the FMC)
38N20W = N38W020 (on the FMC)

Regards,

Hello guys,

Well i got my oceanic clearence hehe, but that was it. 50NM before KOMUT, something starts flashing in the cockpit, there is an APU fire. So i got out the emergency checklists, popped the fire extinguishers and then landed her back at LPPT just in time to see Phil depart.

Safe landings all.

Great fly-in. Oceanic procedures challenging but fun. Shame about lack of parking at LPAZ.

Hi,

What a great fly-in! I was a little pessimistic on the beginning because the ATC controller on LPPO (Santa Maria) is very strict on oceanic procedures, and I knew that our pilots were not prepared for that. But, like Ricardo Placido's told "That's how they learn!" ... I must now agree with him ;D

A shame I had some IVAP problems, so I couldn't stay connected to IVAO. So, instead of flying with you guys, Matt and I did some VFR around Puerto Rico. The one problem I had; while it connected, I was unable to see Matt. There was some problem with the MTL I think, I can't remember what it said. However, as the September Fly-In is next week I will be there! I hope it works this time... ;)
