Flight logger(i like that)
« on: November 05, 2006, 08:30:13 pm »
I was fed up with interminable FSX tweaking(round and round, tweak tweak, blah booo!) and decided to get out the sim that works and give the flight logger a try(have filed manually up to now)and i am very impressed.I am not great at reading instructions and do what i always do,fiddle till things seem to work so i will probably make mistakes but i filed my first flight tonight and it seems to be on the home page so thats good.By Gum! there's some clever people out there.
cheers Andy:)

Good to see you like it, makes recording flights a lot easier. There is a massive thread in the technical discussions forum where you can find out how to fix any problems.
How long before taking the ProPilot leap of faith?!?!

I'd like to add my "thumbs up" for the flight logger, as well. It is a great little piece of software. Definitely one of the benefits of flying at EHM. ;)

I love the Flight logger as well, I've been in quite many VA's and I've never seen  such a great program like FL.

Well, don't forget the next step: ProPilot. It's a great new vision on how to fly on a more real-based Airline operations.

i'm going to actually start using pro-pilot again very soon - i crashed twice on my last two occasions ( one of which wasn't truly my fault by the way!! ) using it so am quite nervous to start using it again but once i get one flight out of the way i hope my confidence will come back...... :s

hi andy - there is absolutely no charge for pro-pilot whatsoever as it is included in the flight logger package! Go to the 'downloads' page and download the pro-pilot manual - this basically contains all the information about what pro-pilot is all about and how to use it! Enjoy.... ;D

Sounds a bit frightening this Pro pilot thingy. It seems like it monitors all aspects of your flying skill(or lack of);)But if it helps to create a more realistic scenario i am all for that.Although i still get a great deal of satisfaction from flying my VA flights it has got a little easy now.I think once you have mastered the autopilot,ILS,correct flap extension speeds, landing speeds etc it can get routine(sometimes if iam tired the sounds of the engines can actually start to send me to sleep:o).Different from when i was learning i used to get into such a rage when i got things wrong or in a panic with ATC  telling you to do things and at the same time watching speeds flaps brakes etc i used to go potty after another three hour flight ended yet again with another glorioious nose dive into some unfortunate airport somewhere aggh!(out with the beer)
Actually i would like to learn a bit more about some of the instruments and there functions because in the sim world its quite easy once you managed all the mysteries of the autopilot,ILS etc to fly and land your plane without really knowing what some of them really do.
Anyway back to propilot i will defiantly give it a go.
Long winded or what.;D
cheers Andy

if your looking for a bit of training with instruments, online flying , pro-pilot etc... why not give Murray or Conrad a shout - they might be able to instruct you on certain issues that you might be weak on... :|   and as for pro-pilot its definitely a change from the norm!! ;D
