FS2004 Tweaking to 45 fps!

(1/4) > >>

EHM-0948 Bruno:
Hi guys,

I friend of mine just told me one thing that increase dramatically the frame rate on the FS2004.

Install the .NET Framework 3.0
and
Uninstall the .NET Framewok 1.1

I am currently flying but i will test it out as soon as I finish my flight.

Can some of you test it out too ?

Regards,

EHM-1617 Iain:
I have the .NET framework 3 installed, but I have never before removed the old versions :$. I'd always been warned away by M$' persistance that 'removing this program may stop other programs from functioning correctly'. Guess the new version is intended to replace the old version :$ Thanks, will try it out.

EDIT: I have sucessfully removed .NET 1.1, but Bill Gates is being very insistent that I should not remove .NET 2.0. Is he right?

EHM-1001 Robert:
I installed it too, so now have 2.0 and 3.0 If I am right, these 2 versions were both came in the 3.0 package.

Anybody knows if the .NET version have any common things with main Service Pack ? I just updated to SP2 last week but I do not feel any major changes. Hopefully with this new .NET package the system became even better ... although did not feel any change in FS. Still 10FPS only in the measured scenario.

EHM-1798 Conrad:
I can confirm there is a FPS increase - i have my frames locked at 24 fps (seing as the Human Eye can't tell the difference between 24 and 100 fps).

I now constantly get 24FPS while in the air, and around 20 - 22 on the ground :)

However i still think that .NET 3 is still a Pre-Release version (NET FX3).

EHM-0948 Bruno:
Hi,

I confirm too. Got a major increase on the FPS rate.

Also, the .NET 3.0 is the final one already Conrad ;) ..

Regards,
