Storm running [1050k!!!]
« on: June 09, 2004, 08:25:03 pm »
Tonight there was terrible weather here. I was flying from home to home ;D errr I mean from LHBP to EHAM. When I took off the sun was shining (really), and there were only some clouds. About half hour later amazing thunderstorm came with blowing winds. I was well over Slovakia that time. When I passed Germany clouds started to disappear. Finally the winds calmed down and luckily I was able to land without major problems...I was very lucky.

Here are the shots:

Climbing over Budapest. The traffic is heavy down there, as usual:

Heading toward north, visibility decreasing. This is the beautiful scenery of the "Danube Corner" of Hungary:

Turning toward Germany:

Flying into the sun. Near flight level. Clouds below:

Approaching the Dutch border, clouds disappeared:

Landing configuration over the threshold.. Ground winds were very "funny":

Touchdown on 19R, with moderate sidewinds. Almost perfect... ;D :

Arrived home. What a friendly surrounding there ! :

Nice shots.
Is that an AI EHM B767? If so, can we get it anywhere?
And is someone trying to get the new timetable into TTools format so we can use it?

Yes those are all PAI planes. You can download the  complete EHM-AI package here. What a difference between the AI and the flyable 738 ;D

The touchdown was scary. I caught the localizer a bit late and I had to fight with the plane. Then after touchdown I almost ran off the runway on the right side, but my co-pilot helped me steering. ;D

I was really lucky that I could avoid the thunderstorms. In Hungary there was a terrible thunderstorm yesterday.

Today afternoon the mayor announced in the radio there will be again thunderstorms and blowing winds tonight. I thought I will do the retour flight from EHAM to LHBP. Luckily(?) there was not any problems.

Climbing from Amsterdam. "Blu-u-e moon ..." dark clouds. It seems to be a rainy weekend:

Heavy clouds everywhere at FL310:

Arriving home. This is the M7 highway down there. Everybody drives to have a fine rainy holiday around the lake Balaton. I hoped to fly over my house but approach was form south:

Arrived to Budapest. A little bit right again on the 31R! There must be something wrong with the trims of this plane! ;D :
