On Midsummernight, I made a Stockholm-Svalbard flight with the VC10. I made the flight on IVAO and other planes flew in the area too. It was nice to see how the sun rises in the evening and shines at midnight.

Departing from Stockholm in the evening

Climbing

Soaring above the sleeping Sweden

The sun slowly rises in the north

The northern part of Norway, one of my favourite places to fly (right, Magnus?). It's about 23:00 local time.

Over the Arctic Ocean

It's daylight at these latitudes

Checking METAR. Other people are flying too in this regions to experience the midnight sun (see TCAS).

Clouds begin to appear as I approach Svalbard

And this is the island, at the northern latitude of 75. Descending...

On the localizer rwy 28

A hands-on landing

Touching down, 10 minutes before midnight (local time)

It's midnight...
