I hope for Boeings sake that they don't run into any further problems regarding the launch of the B787.

Although as an Airbus fan I must at least make a little smile after all the Boeing fantatics all over airliners.net have said that the B-787 would newer be delayed.

Yeh, that's the engineer that used to work for them and was "invited to leave the organization" as they say in the 'States... (in other words, sacked in all but name...)

It's hard to say for sure at this point, we (Joe Public) don't get to see the internal Boeing crash reports, we have to wait for the ICAO/US CAA reports to be made public, and I'd suspect the plane will be in the air officially before that happens.

It does make sense though, what he says, plastic and composites shatter instead of bending (like we see often in Formula 1 crashes), and it could be a bad choice. I dunno about the toxic smoke but it does make sense too.

At the very least these two news should shut up Boeing fanboys about the 380's and 350's delays and production problems for a while...
