Yeh, that's the engineer that used to work for them and was "invited to leave the organization" as they say in the 'States... (in other words, sacked in all but name...)
It's hard to say for sure at this point, we (Joe Public) don't get to see the internal Boeing crash reports, we have to wait for the ICAO/US CAA reports to be made public, and I'd suspect the plane will be in the air officially before that happens.
