ProPilot cross-browser compatibilty
« on: April 19, 2008, 01:03:35 pm »
Good news,

Following a couple of days of hard work on my part, I've gotten the front page of the ProPilot system working in IE and Firefox, and looking pretty similar (only "problem" being Firefox insists on collapsing tables into as little width as it can, while IE listens to width:100% "correctly").

Can I ask for a few volunteers from the membership to test the functionality of the PP "site" in Firefox and report errors (including CSS/style problems please) here.

UPDATE: Just to start, I've noticed that the "My Flights" page in FF doesn't return your flights yet.

FURTHER: And that's "My Flights" working. Off you all go (my pretties...) and find everything else that doesn't work.

I DON'T LIKE OPERA!!!

(*snigger* - only joking... or am I?)

It's better for everyone if we manage to make it all work in any browser, that way it's far easier for anyone having to make changes to it in the future. Plus, making things work in any browser means more time for working on the FLv4 project.

Great, thanks as I am mostly an FF user. I have noticed one little problem though:

In the Lock Flight page I did the following:

1. Enter airport ICAO code
2. Changed Radio Button to select from a Class rather than ALL
3. Ticked the Class-4 (or any other) checkbox
4. Pressed SEARCH

a pop up says "You must select a class first" or something like that. Happens with both IE and FF. That was working before.

Cheers for reporting that Didimo. I'm just about to go shopping (weekly groceries) so I'll have a look at it when I get back but before I pop out to my mates for an afternoon of alcohol and food...

Got the same problem as Didimo, so it's definitely a small bug ;)

Only field I selected though was the Class 7 check box, everything else not filled in

That should be fixed now, and for all the class selection boxes. I also added Class 7 to the My Flights selection box as I noticed it previously only went up to Class 6 (for some reason).

Still outstanding, because I've only just discovered it, the Destinations search returns the same row over and over. I'm looking at that now, and hope to get it fixed before 12:30Z+1 (as that's when I'm leaving...) NOTE: This error appears to have been in there before... my "new" code is almost identical to what was there before. :s

I've just finished uploading a fix to the Destinations problem. In my testing locally it works most of the time, but occasionally times out (my laptop isn't all that powerful, and I have my timeouts in PHP set quite short to stop runaway scripts) so please don't bang on it too hard just yet.

I have been browsing / doing searches etc on the pro-pilot site and have not found any problems yet. Using Firefox.
