Scramble up the rankings?
« on: February 27, 2004, 10:54:20 pm »
Whew. This is a tricky one. I'm slightly torn. We will have to fly tours again to win the award. Well, part of me thinks what a great leveller and we're all back to the start again. However, is there not a danger that all people will do is fly tours for a few months to get the badges back.
That said, the tours are the best flights and I'm queuing up for the UK and Alps tour again.

What do others think about having to refly the tours?

I had just started my first tour when "The Big Crash" happened. So I don't mind doing 5 flights again.

for me i've completed quite a number of tours before the crash, and so i'll have to fly a lot to get them back.......but then at least i'll be able to have a more powerful computer to enjoy the scenery much more than before!

And I'm in the diametrically opposed corner, as I have a much worse GFX card in an otherwise better computer...

I'll fly everything again, it'll give me a chance to correct errors I made in them first time around, and I have learned an awful lot since I completed everything that's on my old badge...

Phil,

The one thing you need to remember is that for a lot of the tours you needed to have X hours already logged and to be a particular rank within EuroHarmony... so there is likely to be a scramble up the rankings first.

I look forward to the fresh start. I can redo the order of tours (I want the Capitals of Europe as my first, unless I can fly the UK tour immediately...)

There shouldn't be too much of a scramble up the rankings Murray as I thought we had submitted a request to be allocated our past flight hours. Hopefully therefore we should still have access to all the tours we have already completed.
I am looking forward to flying some of the tours again as they are great flights but then I know there has been some discussion in the past as to how many standard flight hours people record compared to how many tour hours.

does that mean our tour hours would have to be deducted from our total hours? that poses a real problem for me.......cause i cant remember how many hours doing tours got me :P

I think I'll start over. Maybe from another HUB now as I flew all my Class 1 and 2 flights from and around ESSA.

Lurching off topic - I see you still use your badge as your avatar Alex. Is this not slightly redundant now?
And gizmo - well ... looking good ... what can I say.;)

Ill take them off once the site is back on.

P.S. Ive tried out the iFDG MD-11, it handles quite nicely.

Cheers,

Alex;)

I predict that the badges are very likely to return as the tours are a major part of EuroHarmony and the management would thus want them back, along with the badges
