New for 2011: Beechcraft B1900D with VC

<< < (4/4)

EHM-2381 Ted:
Lol I surrender now.

I had nothing but crashes with the B1900 which is a total drag. At one point it even flew backwards when I tried to taxi forwards!

I switched over to the SU-80 and no issues.

Not to worry though. I'm getting pretty comfortable now with my F1 ATR72-500 and will be flying that pretty much exclusively aside from the Twin Otter and the odd fighter plane buzz in the PC-12. I'm pretty sure I can service scheduled flights with the ATR in/out of Castlegar anyway although the landing will be a bit tricky on approach for obvious reasons  8).

I'm just not sure what happened with the 1900D though. It crashed first when I used the pushback option with a sound error, did it again when I reset the sim, and after the long taxi for RWY 33 for the third time the plane suddenly ran up power for no reason and went into reverse!

Ah well I tried.

Weird...
Sounds like you have an issue with your throttle, but only with the B1900, and not the other ones.
Do you use a joystick with throttle lever, or a throttle quadrant? Could it be it needs calibrating? or an adjustment to sensitivity / null zone?
Just  "thinking out loud, here. You probably have thought of all this yourself already.

I think it's weird, because none of the other aircraft seem to be affected. But if the flight dynamics were to blame, then everyone should experience this.
Again, weird.

I'll ponder a bit more on this overnight...

EHM-2381 Ted:
Hi Eric,

I use a stick w/seperate HOTAS.

As far as I can tell no issues with other aircraft and it seems calibrated properly.
I just flew a SU-80 flight and it seemed fine and will test the other aircraft again now just to make sure.

And just flew my F1 ATR as well with no issues.

I probably did something wrong but not to worry-I have plenty on my hands with the ATR and the DH-6. I rather suspect once one goes payware it's impossible to turn back anyway  :D

Completely depends on the model. I've seen some freeware that exceeds a lot of payware and some payware that's not as good as most freeware.

As a general rule however (once you learn to avoid the low quality payware authors) you are probably right.

I have the same problem with x-plane and FSX ;)
