PC-12 for CYCG ops?
« on: January 17, 2011, 08:17:23 pm »
Hi,

Is there a possibility of adding scheduled PC-12 flights under Eurobusiness serving CYYC/CYVR/KSEA/KGEG and KSLC under the logic that smaller groups of rich hunters and sightseers might fly the route?

The PC-12 would seem a logical extension as it has no problem getting in/out of CYCG.

Not to mention I cannot get the bloody 1900D version to work properly  :D.

Just a suggestion anyway.

Cheers

Ted

First off: Sorry for the late reply, Ted.

The routes you mention are in the current timetable as Main Division Class 1 flights. You can fly them with Main Division Class 1 through 3 airplanes, but you are not supposed to fly them with EuroBussiness planes. Well, you can, but the Operations Manual is pretty clear on that you are not supposed to ... and your PIREP will not be accepted.

Having said that, we'll need to wait for the new website to be up and running (there's some technical reasoning behind that which I can't follow ;), but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the database structure behind it) before we can populate the WILD Division Timetable, and therewith separate WILD from Eurocargo to live a life of it's own. I'm sure we'll take your suggestion in to due consideration as that time comes.

No worries mate.

I'm just discovering the joys of Propilot anyway with my F1 ATR in various places and with the ongoing Twin Otter jaunt I have plenty to do  :D.

Hi Ted,

I must have missed this the first time round too, sorry!

However, it's an eminently logical suggestion so, as you'll see from the Main Page announcement, we are now running three PC-12's out of Castlegar. They link across the USA via business airports at Rocky Mountain Met (near Denver) and Kansas City Downtown to our main USA Hub at Atlanta and, in the other direction, to Seattle, Portland, Vancouver and Victoria.

Have fun with these speed machines in those confined valleys  :D

EDIT - I've added three airframes for PP pilots now - they're all polished and gleaming on the apron at CYCG so please don't bend them ;)

Cool  ;D

Only downer being I am retiring the SU-80 from my stable but it provided good service.

**edit**I notice that under Propilot while the flights from CYCG are available there are no PAX. Will that get filled as the route becomes active or during the next PAX shuffle?

There are two possible answers to that question Ted:-

a - the flights are so new that the PP software hasn't generated any passengers yet - the number increases over time.

b - our initial EHB clients are very famous and have asked for total secrecy for their trip into the WILD to avoid the paparazzi  ;D

I chuckled and flew 8 ninjas plus all baggage into KSEA this morning  ;D

Mt Ranier:

Descending into the Seattle area:

Turning final for KSEA:

Short Final KSEA:

Be careful departing CYCG with the PC-12 and a full load. V1/Vr took a lot longer than I expected and I came very close to aborting takeoff.

**edit**I only used flaps 15 for takeoff...perhaps flaps 30 with the heavy load and short runway would be the better option as the aircraft did NOT want to leave the ground at 85 knots. Then again I turned right on to the runway and started rolling rather than stand on the brakes while the engine spun up. Lesson learned!

I also had a 42 knot headwind all the way to Seattle!

Nice pictures, can't see any ninjas though, I guess they were shy for the camera ;)

The ninja is one with his environment.

That's why you can't see them.  ;)
