New Pro Pilot Event for the Summer of 2015: Alaska
« on: May 03, 2015, 09:33:43 pm »
It has been a while since we held our last Pro Pilot Event. To make up for that, we'll be starting one this summer!
The event will take you through the rest of the year (and then some), so if you decide to join, you're in it for the long run...

The principle is simple: enlist through the website under events, once it has been officially released (or click the event banner on the website homepage), and an airplane will be reserved for you at the first departure airport, Anchorage. All legs are added to the Event flights under dispatch, and they appear in FL4 next to any other flights you may have assigned yourself (a Tour, or regular assignments). You need to report your flights using our Flight Logger. You get a date range for each leg, so you need to file your PIREP after the start date of the leg, and before the end date of that leg, of course (both inclusive).  First leg "opens up" at the first of June, and will be available all throughout that month. Should you miss the time window, you're out of the game. Also, if you crash your plane (as detected by FS, and therefore FL), you're out of it! (Hint: do not file your PIREP, and fly the leg all over again, within the time window  ;) )
We'll be planning to free up one leg per week, with a 4-week timespan to complete each leg. This way, with a little proper planning, a three weeks holiday or two shold not be a problem.

We'd like to say special tanks to Peter Bleekemolen (EHM-2758), for coming up wit the Tour, and laying down all the groundwork. Thank you, Peter!

REMINDER:
Make sure your PP location is set to PANC before you start the event. Set a deadhead if you cannot fly there in time.
