I will be able to use the PMDG without serious lag after my sytem upgrade. Im getting a 'cool' GFX card. honestly it is.


And im gonna get some more RAM.

@Robert: If you mean it is for you, loking at your system specs they are practically the same as mine and I run it fine.....that is with the 512MB RAM, but I dont see why it could run with 256 if need be.

@Murray: Thanks for all your help...it was my first flight....havnt dared fly with it since...scared the life out of me :D. Will try again and see what happens....I may also be a bit extreme in the ammount of throttle used for taxiing ;)

512MB of ram is definitely recommanded :) i recently installed 384MB of ram to up my system's total ram to 512MB and noticed a huge improvement in everything from loading time to FS framerates! ;D

Tim, as I see in your signature, your specs are good except RAM. When compared to mine, it's somewhat similar, except I have 2GB RAM, and 9600Pro, but you don't need a new GFXcard, only a lot more RAM.

What FS framerates you have?

I wouldn't know exactly.. but I think so from my experience, a large improvement!
When I had 1GB, FS with all sliders maxed, ran at 20-24FPS, now I locked it at 30FPS.:)
Maybe it's because my motherboard has DualDDR system...meaning:
4 memory slots in 2 pairs(black & blue), so if U fill only a pair(2x512) memory runs at 400Mhz. But if U fill both pairs(4x512Mb) memory runs double time (800Mhz)
Maybe that's what caused an improvement

(So slow in noticing posts that could do with a response...) If you spool the throttle to c.30%N1 to overcome inertia, then spool back to 22-24%N1, that should be more than enough for 18-23kts GS... Of course, fuel/passenger load will have an effect.

It runs quite well in the virtual cockpit version with my P4 1.8 and a GeForce4 Ti4600 (1GO DDR RAM though)
For the 800/900 series I recommend fs2crew, it's a must :)
Copilot, flight attendant, gate agent, pushback guy, etc...

Yeah at the beginning the plane needs some work on the procedures and the FMS if you're not used to it, but it's so much worth it !

You requested the 600, but as I know the 600 and 700 have the same size body, so the textures must fit to both.
