The Staff and Members of IVAO Denmark and IVAO Australia extend a most cordial invitation to all members of the IVAO Community to participate in a very special event.
The marriage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Miss Mary Donaldson of Australia will take place on Friday 14 May 2004 at 16.00.
The wedding ceremony will be held at Copenhagen Cathedral, the Church of Our Lady. The Bishop of Copenhagen, Erik Norman Svendsen will officiate, assisted by the Chaplain to the Royal Family, Professor Christian Thodberg.
To celebrate this magnificent event, a very special commemorative fly-in that will further cement an already close relationship between the two countries will be held and members of the IVAO Community are invited to join with the Danish and Australian divisions and fly to EKCH Kastrup (Copenhagen) International airport on Saturday 15th May 2004 to arrive between the hours of 1200UTC and 1800UTC.
Full ATC will be available within Danish airspace and aircraft carrying dignitaries may be offered a military escort from specified entry points. Aircraft arriving with their own military escort will be most welcome however the Danish and associated military aircraft will be responsible for escort duties from the border of Danish airspace.
In addition, divisions along the flight paths of those countries participating in this event are invited to activate their ATC facilities to assist participants with their transition through otherwise unregulated airspace.
To facilitate the availability of military escort aircraft for participants carrying dignitaries who will be attending this auspicious event, are requested to submit their flight plans and an estimated time of arrival to the DK-ADIR on or before Friday 14 th May 2004.
Pilots of participating aircraft carrying dignitaries should plan for an arrival via the following waypoints:
From points North – ARTOR waypoint
From points West – BUSOM waypoint
From points South – GIMRU waypoint
From points East – ALMA VOR
Pilots of aircraft not carrying dignitaries for this event should plan for an arrival by normal air routes.
On arrival at these RVs, aircraft carrying dignitaries whose pilots have previously lodged their flight plans, MAY (depending on the availability of appropriate aircraft) be met by Danish and seconded Military escort aircraft who will ensure their safe arrival at Copenhagen. Participating military aircraft who are escorting their country’s dignitaries, once their dignitaries are safely on the ground, be vectored to an appropriate airport.
