April Fly-in - IVAO-GB London Traffic Event
« on: April 11, 2007, 02:50:21 pm »
To coincide with IVAO-GB's London Traffic event, we invite our IVAO pilots to participate in a fly-in from Göteborg-Landvetter in Sweden to London-Heathrow in the UK on the 21st April at 1800Z.

The entire London TMA (and area) will be staffed, so expect the always excellent IVAO-GB service, and traffic levels are expected to be high (it's expected to be "overload" level!)

The online Flying page is already up, so register your interest (specifically requested by IVAO-GB for planning purposes) and see you all on the ground at Landvetter on the 21st.

WARNING: This is expected to be a very high traffic levels event. All participants are advised to be proficient with their chosen aircraft (especially with regards holding patterns), and should have a good few hours on IVAO as a pilot; sorry, but this is not an event to learn about IVAO...

UPDATE: I've added the chart packs for Landvetter, Heathrow and Stanstead to the fly-in page.

Just to remind you all, still I'm sure everyone knows;)

Remeber the speed restrictions on approch to London Heatrow, and comply with them.
I forgot once and was sendt around due to the spacing getting below minimums.
Just keep in the back of your minds

Hope you all will enjoy the fly-in:P

Just to let you guys know that it will be taking place in 2 days,

Expect 21 controllers to fill the london TMA, with a small ACC taking place with some of the GB staff!

Final reminder for those not already registered for this event, it's tonight at 1800Z.

I may be a little late/not able to participate at all since I've been "press ganged" into helping a mate with a server move (with food after being the payment...) but I'll do what I can to get back in time.

Ugh... just got home (and totally knackered...) Server move became a minor recabling disaster and setting up 20 PCs as well - in the end my mate just said "we're stopping, I'll finish up tomorrow". How did everything go?

Hey Phil,

I was watching you on dlmnm and I thought there was something wrong with it as one minute you were well ahead of Christophe and then next it was only Kristian in the area.
A case of 'now you see him - now you don't'.

It can be pretty frustrating; thinking about the last event the Zurich fly-in where after 2 hours holding and approaching I ended up crashing as the brakes didn't work.

A clean install is precisely why I couldn't join you tonight.
Here's to many more in the future. (Events, not crashes!!! ;D;D;D )

Well I am now on my Backup computer.... Well actually it's my main PC for FSX. I decided that I would not use this PC for anything apart from FSX as I did not want to slow it down or compromise the operation of FSX at all. My older FS9 PC which I use for all my work at EHM is currently formatting its hard drive! :) It will take weeks to install all my programs again but I have taken the plunge now so there is no turning back! As long as I get my FS9 running with my PMDG 744F for the F1 event, that will be all I need immediatley! See you guys in the air again soon. I hope that I have less problems next time!
