Hastily arranged Orient Express ProPilot Event fly-in
« on: September 14, 2007, 10:13:21 am »
Don't you all just love hastily [strike]thrown together[/strike] arranged fly-ins ;)

This coming Saturday at 1800Z (hope that's early enough for those of you on the Continent) we offer participants in the Orient Express event our now traditional "ProPilot event first leg group flight".

Duration should be a little under an hour, and I'd recommend flying with a -12hrs offset to real-time (so it'll be early morning in flight sim...) - weather is set fair if the BBC is to be believed, and knowing IVAO-GB there'll be some ATC for sure.

[strike]I'll try and get a fly-in page done if I get the chance, but the flight details are on the PP event page.[/strike]

Online fly-in page is up - http://www.fly-euroharmony.com/maarten/view_events/view_event_advanced.php

Please remember to register for the group flight if you are taking part.

Through some sort of mistake, I have deleted my earlier message as it appeared duplicate.

As I said, the charts for Calais should be on the events page soon.
Furthermore, I managed to find a scenery for Calais.
I haven't had the chance to test it so treat with caution.

Finally, I will be controlling as Calais tower between 18z and 20z for the benefit of our pilots.

See you in the air

Well, it is the price I have to pay for living in the American Continent and for it being Friday. I normally get home at 2100z (6 p.m LT) so I will get very late at Calais. But I will be there.
Good luck and happy flying to all of us!
Hector

Good pilots keep their number of landings equal to their number of takeoffs. Takeoffs are optional but landings are Mandatory.

Hector,

The group event is tomorrow though :)

And Sotiris, I've made those changes you requested on the fly-in page.

Thanks Murray for the good news. I donĀ“t know why I was thinking it was today. Maybe because it is Friday.
See you all at the airfield tomorrow.

Whenever I click "register", the pop-up disappears. I'm not using a pop-up blocker.

Don't worry too much about it yet Matt, registration's not compulsory (and at this point you can't log the flight in PP anyhow...)

EDIT/UPDATE: You're now registered for the fly-in Matt (and for those that haven't noticed, locking the PP flight is also working thanks to Robert)

Great participation for such a hastily arranged fly-in, and a great way to kick the PP event off.

My thanks, in no particular order, to Hector, Christian, Paolo and Matt (better luck tomorrow Matt), and to the ATC we received - Peter Van de Witte as EGTT_CTR and our own Sotiris Soulakiotis as LFAC_TWR. I have screenies galore to go through, but I need to chop them down and resize before I can post.

I've uploaded my three screenies to the event summary page (had many thanks to Fraps being on "once a minute" screengrabs, but most were useless poo thanks to Fraps being on "once a minute" screengrabs ;))
