Which aircraft would you like to see for charter operations?
« on: September 01, 2013, 12:36:04 pm »
Following on from Bruce Thomas' original thread HERE we have now got the technical means to select individual aircraft types which can become charterable - ie a pilot can create their own route for the aircraft type rather than having to choose from the timetable.

We aren't going to open this up for all aircraft, but we will have some planes which can be chartered for a few months then change to other ones. This fits in with real world operations where some airlines wet lease their aircraft out to other organisations or airlines for a period of time to maximise utility. The list of possible options above includes some of our most popular planes with good payware versions.

Please indicate in this poll your top 3 choices for the first round of planes to be made available for charter work and any reasons so we can measure the popularity of this new option :)

Vote submitted.

As for the reasons... I preferred the ones I have the best add-ons for.

It looks like everyone who wants to vote has done so, so unless there are any last minute voters this weekend we'll take the results forward at the start of next week and make three planes available for charters.

The obvious top two are the ever popular B738 and ATR-72 with third spot currently being a tie between several other options...

Anyone who hasn't yet voted please do so before Sunday night and you might tip the balance for third place  ;)

The voters have spoken  :D

Thanks to all of you who expressed your preference - three new aircraft are now available for charters for everyone. They are the ATR-72 for turboprop pilots, the Boeing 737-800 for medium haul jockeys and the Boeing 767-300ER for long haul Captains - the choice, as ever, is yours ;)

We'll keep this under review and will consider swapping other planes into and out of charter status over time depending how popular this proves to be :)
