Help please - award not showing
« on: April 22, 2005, 12:18:48 pm »
Hi,

I used the list in this thread:

http://www.euroharmony.com/~forum/viewthread.php?tid=148

as my source of information for cobalt european pilot and thought I had accomplished this. However, the award didn't show when my other awards were upgraded to cobalt. Is this list still in date?

Thanks Bruno :)

I do try to be quite vigilent about my progress before putting in for an award but I'll be the first to put up my hands if I've made a mistake.

Any news on this yet Bruno? It would be really useful if the EHM cobalt european was calculated by the automatic award system. The only slight problem is that one of my UK flights had the flight IVAO of UK10 which appears at first glance to be a Ukraine flight. I'm sure somebody on the team has the technical know how to make this part of the programming howeverand let the EHM European award be picked up by the automatic system.

hhhmm ...

I analysed the script and it is correct. You need to have 40 flights departing or arriving from 40 different european countries.
The ICAO country code 2-letter prefix must be contained in :
'EB','ED','EE','EF','EG','EH','EI','EK','EL','EN','EP','ES','ET','EV','EY','LA','LB','LC','LD','LE','LF','LG','LH','LI','LJ','LK','LL','LM','LO','LP','LQ','LR','LS','LT','LU','LV','LW','LY','LZ','BG','BI','UK','UL','UM','UR','UU','UW'

So, I am going to check manually your flights in order to look at it.

Fingers crossed Bruno. I took the list from the forum that was posted a while ago and then went through checking off each country. I was fairly confident of success but human error may be the cause here - I await your call on this one :)

Bruno told you in another thread he would look at it for you so give him a chance. There are other things in his life other than EHM.

Ok guys no more stress ;D .. The situation is 100% solved.

I used a formula from our friend and ex-MT Cyriel on the award engine so, from now on, the "(blue/silver(cobalt) european award" is given.

Also, I saw the award log and many pilots received these awards...

Sorry, again, for the incovenience, but I think that the problem is totally solved now.

Regards and safe flights,

I'm not so sure the script works with the cobalt european award. I got my Capitals of Europe tour award a few days ago. If memory serves me right you should get the cobalt when you have finish that tour at least. I'm rather sure I should have had it while I still was on the tour. I think I had been in most of the 40 country already before I started this tour. So if it's surpose to work, then I'm sorry to say it don't work for me.

Hi

So far (out of all countries) you have visited:
1   Albania
2   Austria
3   Belarus
4   Belgium
5   Bosnia and Herzegovina
6   Bulgaria
7   Canada
8   Croatia (Hrvatska)
9   Cyprus
10   Czech Republic
11   Denmark
12   Estonia
13   Finland
14   France
15   Germany
16   Greece
17   Greenland
18   Hungary
19   Iceland
20   Ireland
21   Italy
22   Japan
23   Latvia
24   Lithuania
25   Luxembourg
26   Macedonia
27   Malta
28   Moldova
29   Netherlands
30   Netherlands Antilles
31   Norway
32   Poland
33   Portugal
34   Romania
35   Russia
36   Slovak Republic
37   Slovenia
38   Spain
39   Sweden
40   Switzerland
41   Turkey
42   Ukraine
43   United Arab Emirates
44   United Kingdom
45   United States
46   Yugoslavia

I make 6 of those not European [Canada, Greenland, Japan, Neth Antilles, UAE, USA].

Bruno: The problem appears to be with Russia & Belarus, and Moldova & Ukraine...
  • Airport at Moldova is UKII, any other airport with UK_ _ is Ukrainian.
  • Airports in Belarus: UMBB, UMGG, UMII, UMMG, UMMM, UMMS, any other UM_ _ is Russian.

Also I think it counts Greenland which I don't think it should?

Greenland is part of Europe. Formerly a Norwegian and then a Danish province it is now self-governing although it does still use Danish currency and the Danish Monarch is the head of state. Denmark also represents Greenland in International disputes - currently with Canada over ownership of an island.

Geographically you are correct - constitutionally you are not
http://denmark.dk/greenland_and_the_faroe_islands

All World Atlas says is that it is geographically regarded as part of North America. Constitutionally it is very much part of Europe.

I also had checked flights off Karsten and thought I had reached Cobalt. However, I am now flying the European Capitals Tour to confirm that I have actually flown the 40 countries on the list. (I used the original 40 checklist when I tried for the cobalt but that didn't work so I've got fingers crossed on the Capitals Tour). I don't see how you can have flown the European Capitals Tour and still not have the 40 countries though ... that is confusing.
