What happend to the world tours??
Why aren't they available anymore..??

If it is because the data couldn't be recovered, I still have them printed out, and i'll be happy to fax/mail them over to the management

ps: On the awards request page, they are still in the awards list

Rico,

If memory serves, the WTs were going to be rationalised and re-done (and may well have been just before the Great Crash)...

You mean they were going to revise/update them, and then they would be posted back ??

I seem to remember that most of the World and European tours were removed just before "G.C."... One of the European tours (the middle one if memory serves) became an "ordinary" tour, can't remember which off hand.

I'd like to see a new WT instigated as I'm looking for a challenge (can't fly the IVAO VFR WT in the timeframe left...)

The world tours were removed before the great crash. New shorter tours still marked as 'new' in the tour lists were introduced. These included the UK tour and the tour of the Danube. I don't think there was talk of these world tours coming back. There was definitely a vibe coming out from some management members that they wanted to see more hours on the main timetable so this might have something to do with removing three very long tours.

Work on a new World Tour is in progress.
Just don't hold your breath as there are
quite a few things that need to be worked
out before it can be released.

What I meant by ordinary is that the current "Scandinavian Tour" used to be one of the European Tours (the middle one if memory serves, as previously mentioned.

I didn't realise that Murray - surely a world tour should be just that. I would hope that revised world tours in the future take in a number of countries and culminate in a superb round the world flying experience.

Manu and Ian are working on a new world tour that cover many interesting countries in the world. At this moment, there's no release date known.

NO. The Scandinavian Tour is a brand new one, created from scratch; with more destinations and much shorter legs, and it has nothing to do with the Silver Tour.

I worked 2 weeks to create that tour from scarch, with the best destinations possible, and now people say 'oh it's just an old tour renamed'.

grrrrrr :@ :@ :@

There was no tour re-named, its just that the scandinavian tour had a lot in common with the old silver European.

Yep, I first planned to just rename it, but then I created a new tour from scratch, for GA planes.

My oopsie then :$ (and nice to see you back in the fold Gergely ;D)

Would it be fair, then, to say that the current Scandinavian Tour was based on (loosely perhaps), or even took inspiration from, the old silver European Tour?
