Thought i would take the repainted PMDG B1900D for a quick hop online. Shots from flight from Glasgow to Manchester using on-line weather and Flight 1 environment upgrade. Hope you like.....

A bit variable really, if you have the full detail clouds and fly through a very big formation then it does knock my FPS from 30 to about 20....no real hit with normalish weather....you can set it up to use slightly less detailed clouds but haven't tried yet!!

they def. look diff. from the FS2002 clouds...the clouds on my FS are shockingly awfull, and just look really bad!!!

these ones look all light and fluffy like!!!

i want those clouds

Cheers guys. The clouds are definately better than default, i admit that some of the differences are subtle but they are much fluffier and better coloured - i have only tried 3 of the millions of different cloud sets so far but i suspect they are alot better - it also adds in different cloud layers which move at different ratyes depending on the winds and gives a generally more realistic sky.
Chris - the product is called Environment Upgrade and is by Flight 1 - you can find them on the internet - not sure if it will work with FS2002. I use FS2004, have a 3.4GHz Pentium4 with 1028MB of RAM and a Radeon ATIx600xpro 258MB graphic card.....

Why are the IVAO status indicators down at the moment?

If I'm honest I'm not sold on the difference being that spectacular from Fs2K4 default from the screenies shown. The only difference about FS2K4 weather that really needs improving is the rate of change when online. All of a suddent the clouds switch off then after a few minutes regenerate at an alarming rate. It can't take much science to program a fading out and fading back in. The appearance though of Jim's clouds to the untrained eye looks not dissimilar to the FS2K4 default - what do others think?
(The VC on the plane however ... that is stunning.)

That would be a payware excellent addon, FSNavigator. It is amazing, I am thinking of getting it. Sids/Stars, and a brilliant automated flight planner. Go to this page

Manu, thanks for the comments - the B1900D is worth the money in my opinion - only costs about£15. It's real easy to fly (unlike the PMDG 737) and has a lovely VC, good sounds and nice handling. As Iain said, the map is FSNavigator which i also think is worth every penny - allows you to plan routes using SIDS and STARS and it also links with the planes Autopilot so it will fly it for you!!
