Routefinder and .pln files
« on: June 07, 2005, 09:22:18 pm »
When I create a route on routefinder http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/ then how do I turn that into a MSFS flightplan that will appear in the FS GPS. Perhaps it can be turned somehow into a .pln file that can be placed into the 'flight simulator files' folder?

At the moment then all I can do is use the GPS DCT to Waypoint command for each warpoint in turn but that is unrealistic. How can I turn the rfinder route into a magenta line for me to follow?

Thanks for the help.

the magenta line isn't much realistic either for an airliner to follow :)
I suggest to use a FMC, what aircraft are you using at the moment ?
Try this, found it on the web, might be able to convert manual routes to PLN files.

you can also add all waypoints (Intersections, VOR, NBD) from Routefinder manually in your FS Flightplan, when you don'y use FSNAV.
Of course it takes a while to do this for long flight, but you have the right route (include SID, STAR) in your FS FMC (standard).

regards Kendy! ;)

Wow that file you suggested is amazing maabaa, i suggest all who cannot afford FSNav (like I have just decided) should give it a go, filename spf3pr.zip at avsim.

Sorry for the delay, I didn't see your post.

Create the fp, click export, then select FS GPS v3.1 or something. It will ask you to save it - make sure you save it in the My Documents/Flight Simulator Files folder, or it will not work, then select correctly whether you have FS2004 or FS2002.

It doesn't seem this link works any longer. Someone who knows an alternative (tried to google and search avsim for a while without any luck).

OK and now a new question. I was trying to update SFP to AIRAC 0509 in Airbus PSS format (which'll be good until the 28th).

How do I use http://www.navdata.at? I click AIRAC then select 0509 and PSS, click download and I am returned to the homepage. Any ideas?

Don't see why it should. The sirac for PSS is at http://www.navdata.at/php/airac/airac.php?cycle=0509&addon=PSS

Thanks for that Bill. I am at a relatives house at the mo, downloaded no problems, and will email home. Don't know what the problem was. Thanks anyway.
