Anybody remember or have saved the forty European countries needed for the EHM cobalt award?

I seem to remember that it omitted some of the smaller principalities but included some of what was termed 'Asia Minor' when I was at school. I think for example Israel was included.

Grateful for anybody having the list as I think I'm a little over half way and enjoying exploring new cities.

Just look at the list on the European capital's tour. Those are the countries needed.

Cheers,

Alex;)

I did a bit of searching in my archives, and I found this. If memory serves me right, this is the list that Magnus Larson (former chief of operation, for those who haven't been around for that long) posted, in the old days. Don't think the list has change since then.

Turkey is a future member of the EU,
while Isreal isn't. The list seems to be
correct.

Are there airport facilities in San Marino, Monaco or Andorra?
The list is pretty good but Cyprus isn't recognised as a separate state is it? I thought half the island was under Turkish rule and the other half was under Greek rule.
The inhabitants of the United Kingdom would feel there was a stronger argument for considering Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland as separate countries (which they are).
As I said though, a pretty good list.

What is the status of Greenland? Last I knew, it was under Danish administration.

San Marino and Monaco take advantage of
Italian (Forli') and French (Nice) airports.
I don't know about Andorra but it's probably in a similar arrangement.

Cyprus has just entered the EU as a
separate state. The part under Turkish
control did not and will not until either
the island is reunified through a referendum
or Turkey enters the EU (this it will take
some more time), whichever comes first.

Greenland is effectively part of Denmark
and should not be considered separate.
It would be a bit like considering the
Falkland islands or Gibiltrar on their own
when they are effectively part of the UK.
They probably have some arrangement
that makes them more autonomous than
the various regions in the mainland, but
they don't make them a separate state.

Hope it helps.

Ciao ciao!

Manu

P.S By the way, also the Vatican, the
smallest sovereign state in the world
(0.44 square kilometers) does not have
an airport and is not included in the list.
