If it is a heat problem, I think it would happen after 10-15 minutes maximum. If I ran many programs together, and the PC case wall is fastened, the CPU warning start ringing after about 3-5 minutes when I start FS, and the graphics card start really spinning. When it happens I used to take off the case wall, and the machine get fresh air, that usually solve the problem.

But again, I think overheating do not come after 30 minutes only. I think it is rather a software, or power supply error. Unfotunately these things mostly unrecognizable.

Once I had a fuel gauge at many panels, that used to crash my system about 5-10 minutes after starting FS. It was an incompatibility with some XP parts, and I got a patch from the author that solved the problem.

Try to locate the problem, by analyzing more deeply the situation...

AMD X4-955 3.2GHz / Gigabyte 770T / 4 GB DDR / Gigabyte GTS450 1GB DDR
Samsung 226BW@1680x1050 / WinXP.3 / FS9.1 / FSX.1 / Saitek Cyborg 3DGold

Look at your system's events log, you'll be able to have a clue on the problem :)

It could be an error with the windows.

windows XP no has a "feature" that means once it gets to the dreaded blue screen it will restart straight away, to try not to scare people.  In the PC shop where i work, customers cannot work out why the machine is restarting, and it is this.

This is a bit random, why after 10-15 mins max???

if it is a heat issue, then it can happen at anytime.  if the processor overheats after 3hours that is the amount of time that it takes to get hot.

if the processor fan is spinning at all then the system will still start up.
