Timetable vs Flightlogger
« on: July 25, 2005, 09:15:27 pm »
Hi.
I just decided to get the flightlogger a chance.  But soon enogh I discovered that the timetable in the logger mismatch to latest version of the offline timetable.  For example, flight 1466 in Offline Timetable is LSZH-LIMF, while in the fligtlogger timetable the flight 1466 is LSGG-LSZB.
Flight LSGG-LSZB in "offline timetable" is 1464....eg. 2 flights behind.
If I`m guessing right here, there are a number of flights added to the main timetable but not updated to a newer version of the downloadable offline timetable.
If so, all my reported flights lately are wrong, though I only had flown class 1 flights, and up to this date used the offline timetable only.......yikess.
What timetable is to be used ???....and where do I continue from my last flown flight? 1466 LSZH-LIMF(offl. timetable).
As ESSA hub captain may have noticed, I attempt to complete all flights in main table, started from first flight class 1 a few month ago.  I would not be too happy having all those flights canceled.

Will park my aircraft in the hangar, and check in at the hilton hotel here at LIMF, until this is solved out.  All expensives will be charged EHM....pronto.:]

I am sure that Flightlogger downloads the Online timetable database, if you update it. So, with Flightlogger, you will surely be up-to-date on the timetable part ;D

But if you stay too much in Hilton, the aircraft maintenance prices will be too high, and I guess your HUB captain will not be glad of it ;D

Sir...are u saying that offline timetable differs from online dito?  Hmmm, Im not quite up to date what is happening in EHM this year, cause I am overloaded of work/business.   Only I take myself time is to, do some ehm-flights from offline timetable, convinced that was what I should report.  Until tonite, when I installed flightlogger, and noticed the differ.
So, what should I fly for flight 1466....LSZH-LIMF, or  LSGG-LSZB??  flying offline.
By the way......flightlogger ver 2.4.20 readme-file says:
"Description
This program is mainly composed by an offline Timetable, a flight Logger and a ACARS".

Further on "page 9" it says:
"The Update button will update the offline database with the most current information available at Euroharmony".
So the main question remains;)

Ooh, and about my hilton-vacation. Consider all the fuel and payout expensives EHM will save on this;D

Hi Helix,

Our VA is contantly analysing the timetable that we have and it is "normal" that the offline timetable differs from the Flight Logger (correctly updated).

This is our responsability, so logically your flights will not be deleted.

Our responsability is to update the offline timetable as soon as possible due to this mistake, and present our escuses by this mistake.

So, right now use the flight logger because when you click the "update" button you receive the latest version of the timetable. Make this once a week, just to be sure that everything is fine ...

Regards,

Roger that, Bruno.   So I`ll have to fly 1465 and 1466 once again to catch up with the current timetable...right.
Well, I guess it`s fair enough, though I didn`t pay enough attention to this matter earlier.

Just to make the things clear, the offline timetable is a small program with an in-built timetable database, that contains the flights, so you do not need to connect to the internet, and search flights from the EHM website.

What we call online timetable is the page on the website, where you can search for flights. Flightlogger says offline timetable, because it reaches the timetable database from the server, and you do not need to manually browse it from the site, but you can browse it inside flightlogger. So, you do not go "online" to the website.
