New mission engine
« on: August 23, 2005, 10:19:31 am »
Dear pilots,

We now have a new mission engine partially deployed on the site.

EuroHolidays Missions are the first ones to use the new engine system. The other divisions will come very shortly.

This new award system, besides some new optimized technical stuff, have a special feature that is to send an email to the Hub Captain and to the pilot, advising him that he have a new award.

Also, we now have the mission flights on the database. That means that if you insert a new pirep from a mission flight, the system will recognize that flight (filling the departure and arrival airport automatically).

Take a look at the new EuroHolidays missions to see the new look and feel that we use, and give us your comments.

Safe flights,

I like the new layout, it looks fresh and modern. I'm looking forward to seeing the other Divisions missions updated too ! Particularly the EuroBusiness ones as I'm keen to fly our Concorde to some new destinations ;)

Just a couple of observations :-

the same description appears in the Class 6 missions "Movie on Africa" and "Surf Boys"

a couple of the Missions refer to events in 2004 (Euro 2004 and the Olympics) - I think they need updating as they make the page feel out of date...

Nice to see more sections of the website getting updated, keep up the good work guys !

I think it is only the layout that has changed. The missions in the Holidays Division show an expiry date of 2005 09 30  and the wording is the same as my printout of the page taken a while back so presumably they will be updated.

Like the new layout - found it confusing when I first saw the old layout that the Mission number did not correlate with the class of aircraft.

Hi,

Some adventures have the same description because you need to make several flights in order to end that mission. So, because the engine doesn't permit to group flights on a single mission, we had to split them on several missions too..

We are currently updating the other 2 divisions... Until the end of the week we will have all updated, and we can then pass to the second phase of deploying the new AAAS System (Automatic Award Assignment System).

Hi,

Some of you may found strange this partial deployment.

Unfortunately there isn't other way of making it. I am working on it to make it fully deployed as soon as possible.

Hi there,

All the missions are set to go. You now can submit a mission flight and it will be automaticaly recognized by the timetable system.

So, have fun ... until end of September where a new mission pack will come.

Hi,

The new AAAS system has ran for the first time.

Some pilots received some mission awards. Maybe they forgot to ask for them.

Please check your awards. If you have some problem, send me an email please.

Thank you.

There were some modifications on the Main page. You now can see the latest awards given.

Take care...
